I'm gonna be brief on this, because it's a subject that used to come up a LOT, and now thankfully is hardly ever seen now...
Anyway, here's the lowdown.

Some ravers, just rave, and that is cool. Personally I think that housing (not normal raving) done well can be a fantastic dance to watch. Good housers are goood.

BUT - there are some ravers, who think that by rolling around on the floor, that it makes them a breaker.
It doesn't.

BBoying is a dance that takes a LONG time to learn, and is a very complex dance - much more than rolling around and spinning.

Anyway, when bboys see ravers trying to break in a club, and worse, getting a good reaction from a crowd that cheers because they don't know any better, this can annoy a bboy/bgirl because they know how hard the dance is and how much work it takes to get good.

Basically it's seen almost as insulting because it belittles the art of bboying.

Then the other side, is when there is a good bboying cirle going - and some raver steps in swinging glowstics around, trying to break and so on. This often gets the same kind of feeling in a bboy as it does when some drunk steps in and hogs the circle.

In short, they are 2 dances coming from a VERY different direction, and the simple fact is, that the two don't really mix very well.

It'd be cool if this didn't start into a huge argument about rave vs bboying, because it would cause nothing but ill-feeling.

it's the same feeling i get when some capoerists come to our session and start to try and imitate us , then go into the circle and bust capoeira moves ...
for some reason anybody who do something acrobatic and the such , thinks he's automatically a bboy .

It doesn't.

My best friend's a raver. He's not bad at it and he doesn't break, so I personally think he's cool. At my school, a circle is made with exaggerated movements, so a toprock unfortunately get a circle together like i tried....... so that's a raver's job at my school. meh...
