Im gonna upgrade the vid card to a ATI Radeon 9200 128 mbit w/ tv-out video, its only 26 dollars more (is this a good vid card?? or should i get another one) im gonna get a 10/100 pci network card (12 dollars) yellow mulitmedia/keyboard/ and internet mouse (9 dollars) plus like some of the stuff (cd burner ect. is gonna be yellow (7 dollars for each thing) so my total is! $538.00 is that a good price for this computer?? is the amd athlon 2500 good? how many ghz is it?? let me know what i should change. thanx i might upgrade the video card to a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128mbit cuz i heard the 9200 was bad, i also might upgrade the ram to 512 the total comes out to be around $680.00 is that good?? 1: No diff. It's just how you'd like your comp lookin' like.
2: 420 watts? Kind've unnecessary, isn't it?....unless u wanna have like, every drive hooked up at once (with like 3 HDs. lol) As for the GHz.....I got no damn clue. lol 3: A decent card. A better one can probably be found, but it probably wouldn't be worth your money (unless you're goin' into like movie development or somethin'......$26's a good price for that one.) They also may not have TV-out, which's particularly good if u got a normal camcorder, and wanna post up some vids. 4: Personally, I'd get an ethernet card instead of a PCI one......your own choice, but I find they're easier to deal with. Yea, I'd say it's a decent price.....however, I dunno about the processor. Someone with some extra know-how'd be best to tell ya that. Peace. |

I haven't heard about those cases but if I were you I would buy a Antec Plusview 1000AMG.. its got a window so u can mod if u want.. or theres the 1080AMG which doesn't have a window BUT it does come with a nice power supply.
You shouldn't skimp on the power supply. I would get a nice beefy 480w Antec PSU. Antec make really good PSU's. The Athlon 2500 would be maybe 1.8ghz - 2ghz. I think the 2400 is 1.8ghz but I'm NOT sure. The Radeon 9200 is a nice card. Its kinda like a budget card. I recently bought a GeForce4 Ti4800SE for $280 AUSD. Its got a normal VGA connector, a DVI for flatscreen panels (LCD's) I think and a S-Video connector for tv's and handycam cables (I think). Make sure u get DDR RAM coz SDRAM is sh*thouse. The 9600Pro is an ok card, it isn't faster than the 9500Pro but it is newer. Hmm u should probably look at a 9700 non-pro if u can afford it or maybe a decent GeForce4 Ti4200 or a 4800SE. U should see if u can build ur pc too, u'll learn a lot and it does cost more if u want to get it built I think. |

ok fixed the link
Aight well it says that if im buying the computer for heavy usage or gaming (yes) then i should upgrade to 420 watt power supply (19 dollars so wat the heck) the memory is DDR400 256mb pc3200 or 512mb Dual Channel(upgrade) ehy so the vid card is a good deal?? the Radeon 9200 128mbit vid card?or 26 dollars? really cuz everyone is saying its crappy, it has dvi and tv out video (that means liek it has the plugs right?? (yellow, red, and white?) and does tv tuner mean that u can hook like cable up to the pc?) i would get the radeon 9600 but its $119.00 more so my total would be like 680 dollars, but with the 26 dollar vid card its like 500-600 dollars i dont really know wat a pci card is i thought it was just an ethernet card (like u plug ure cable modem into, like a giant telephone wire thing) can i just use like my old ethernet card, its like a CNET Pro 200wl, or i can always get a new one from a store. so is this a good gaming computer cuz like my computer cant run crap thanx ![]() o ya i heard that the athlon 2500 is 1.8 ghz but it runs like it is 2.5ghz so thats kool |

Yep, the AMD Athlon CPU's are very good for gaming, although their not as fast as Pentium 4's they perform well.

Good looks. I would build my own personally. Also, make sure you get the ASUS MoBo. It's better IMHO. And AMD Athlons kick. They are deffinitely a good choice. I disagree with the poster who said 420W is crazy, you gotta remember there are probably gonna be cathodes in there also. And my extra LED's always good to have extra if you ask me. I don't have a lot of lighting in my PC. and i have a 450W run to just under max. I didnt see anything about cooling because I just briefly looked. But I would suggest water-cooling. It's a lot quiter.

overall it's a pretty good deal your getting.
- the mobo is good (i recommend - asus a7n8x) - case is good - speakers are crummy - radeon 9200 will def not handle latest games and shit (9600 pro is the least you should go.) |

Get a Athlon XP 2500+ 33fsb "Barton" Core, they are cheap, and are great for gaming.
the CPU is about 2.2GHZ. upgrade the heat sink and fan, for OCing purposes get 512 ram, but, get two 256 sticks, for dual chaneling purposes. someone said "dont get SD ram or some shit like that. he doesnt know what he is talking about, DDR, thats short for it, but is really DDR SDRAM. There is a old style of SDRAM which is different, that no1 would buy. a 9600 is a great video card, so is a 9700. if you want the best get a 9800 128 MB(very expensive).also geforce 4 ti4600's are great. you need at least a 350 wat psu. i like intel better for the fsb ![]() AIM or MSN me if u want more info btw- i didnt read NE posts apart from urs |
