haha wow you sound like my mother. jesus christ.
as far as I know, nobody's ever died doing headspins. and a little slight pain is going to stop you from learning something? pansy. altho..you could just be doing it wrong..but headspins aren't quantum mechanics here, so I don't know... |

dont listen to soviet at all..your not in any way a "pansy" because of a neck injury..they can be really serious..without even knowing it..you could mess yourself up long term..if it continues to give you problems lay off..but otherwise..dont quit trying them altogether because of something that happened one time..you could just have to get used to it..but normally neck injuries are a sign of somethin

well solo it sounds to me like it's a little pain that's not serious..like one of those "oops, I just got slapped with a feather" type things..if it was bad he'd be a lot more concerned than he sounded..

go see a chiropractor
you probably displaced a vertebrae , pinched a nerve , seized a muscle , or a combination of the above so get it fixed and if you don't want to do headspins, that's entirely your perogative - i've seen plenty awesome bboys throw down sets without ever busting a headspin ... go practice your footwork or something the neck isn't a place you want to fuck around with , so unless you're willing to take the risk and do the work , don't go there . That's a legitimate choice .ANd it's ONLY yours to make . |

what electron is saying is probly the safest way to go, but you also gota think that your blowing it entirely outa proportion too. im not saying dont do what she said and just go with the pain and im not saying rush to the doctor its up to you
think of exactly what happened think of the noises that were made when it did happen think of how long its hurt and the degree it has hurt over those days does it swell does it restrict movement if it does does it just hurt or does it make it physically impossible to move to where it used to... if you heart a large crack and you cant move my neck at all and it hurts constantly severly for a week unchaning then maybe you shoulda visited the doctor a long time ago. for everyone else. if your smart about it headspins are not dangerous. you should be stong enough to do em which comes with time. |

ok, a little serious here
.. I don't think you should stop practising headspinn, it wont kill you.. you just need to get some pointers ..you kinda need to learn to stand on you head befor start spinning.. also, its not a bad idea to learn one-shot first.. ----------------------- sushi-one p.c.c. |

okay ... just for the record - i do a lot of head freezes , and am working on headspins
and maybe it is shooting far to say that you shouldn't do them if you're scared to hurt yourself , but i think it's up to the individual . We all know that we get hurt sometimes no matter what , and that you take certain risks when you break , but we've decided that it's worth the risk and continue practicing . But if one particular thing is scaring you and hurts , better to ease off of it until you feel ready to improve in that area , because if you are scared , usually you'll tense up and actually hurt yourself more . And we ALL know that eventually you're gonna fall out of a headstand . |
