i dont think i have seen any bboy who can mill or flare perfectly with the beat. BESIDES< what if the song was at like 60 BPM? OOOO hes not milling to the beat, hes not a bboy! even though you wouldnt be able to mill that slowly. Or what if it was at like 160 bmp?

Besides, if you want to get REALLY technical, anything you do is in some kind of division of the beat. If you looked at a vid where a breaker was 'off the beat' and really counted when he came in, and when it ended, it would always be on some kind of division. Whether it be on the 2nd sixtuplet on the first beat and the the 3rd Five in the 2nd beat, it is all technicly 'on the beat'. Also, unless you know how to read music, you wont know what i mean by sixtuplets or fives or eigths. Although i know that you guys prolly meant either on the quarter notes or eigths, since that all people usually seem to understand.

Im just ranting... dont listen if you dont want to

I agree with the vote, but since I am new I am learning some freezes, and what not, first then concentrating on the dance later. I am doing this, because with the freezes, powers, floats, etc. you can see a steady improovement. Then once I have a few moves, that I can fall back on, I will start with the dancing. Dancing to me is a lot about the feeling the beat, and to get that I think you need to have experience, so the moves will help me learn to get the beat.

i was one of them who voted no

alot of ppl are kinda drifting off the point. ppl are saying you have to dance to the beat, and not let the beat be in the background only, but is that what distinguishes between a breakdancer and a bboy?

personally i think no.
let me ask, if you are deaf, no matter how hard you try, you cannot be a bboy???

This one time...this hot chick rings me up and says to me in a horny voice, ''Oh baby come over now, no ones home''.... So I went over to her house and no one was home..

I personally agree. Yet most Breakers can't dance or feal the beat! Breaking started with dancing and later powermoves where added!

Being able 2 dance does NOT make you a b-boy!

Yet ONE of the skillz a b-boy has 2 master is DANCING!
Do you agree?
...No bboy has to learn poplocking and electric boogie. Those are entirely different styles of dances from bboying.

Anyway...I think you do have to be able to dance. If you don't have at least a meager amount of toprock, you ain't shit to me. You can do all the dope power in the world but if you can't dance, I don't give a whole lot of respect from me.

Breaking and B-Boyin (not bboying, the B stands for a separate word, therefore you MUST put a "-" between B and Boy)

The difference between breakdancer and b-boy is the mass media!

The media gave breaking and b-boying the name breakdance! So most people called breakers… breakdancers.
It’s just a difference between terminology and has nothing to do with the definition of the word!

FACT: Breaking started with DANCING! At some point breakers started to do ground moves, it took a few years before breakers started to do power moves influenced by gymnastics, acrobatic and martial arts!

i agree with NL the first bboys weren't doing flare to airflare to 90. They were dancing!!! But i wont say that you need music to dance, after all how many of you have been somewhere bored and you start toprocking to a beat in your head, i do it often and i am on beat when i do it

this shit again?

a deaf b-boy can't be a b-boy if he doesn't know the beats.

he could read some notes(if beats can be written as notes) and study them.

a b-boy has to be able to dance to the music.

there is no argument, that's what b-boys do...dance to the rhythm.

this is who i am, this is what i do...
if i go in a circle and i automatically start tumbling...
it may not be a dance to you, but it's my dance...

if ur fully deaf....how do u think deaf people play instuments, or listen to music...they feel the vibrations n often times use lights to emphasize. just because how WE "feel" n hear the beats isnt how they FEEL the beats doesnt make it any less effective. Actually its probally more so

i'm "whack" because i said they could read notes?

explain what whack is and how it applies to me and my b-boying.

is this site turning into the old ignorant-filled breakdance.com again?
