I definitely do not believe in dating a non-christian. I think it is disobeying God to be with an unbeliever. The bible which is God own Word is very very very clear on this think about these verses 2Cr 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2Cr 6:15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 2Cr 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you [fn] are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among [them]. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." [fn] 2Cr 6:17 Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you." [fn] 2Cr 6:18 "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty." This means that some parts of the bible can be interpreted differently but if it is interpreted two ways that oppose one another then one is wrong! The bible is after all, the primary way God communicates to us and we should assume that he's doing that because he has something real to say. The parts that are slightly ambiguous (like Break4Christ has said) are not essential to the message of salvation (and by that i mean the restoration of our broken relationship with God through Jesus sacrifice on the cross) and that of course is God's message through and through. That is what is important and what he wants to deal with. For example, the point of Genesis is to explain to us that God is the creator of all things, that he deserves to be worshiped and that we have broken our relationship with him. But don't worry because in the very first few chapters even, there is promise of reconciliation. It is not intended to explain every particular aspect of the way that God created everything. Indeed as creator why should he have to explain himself? |
