INTERNSHIP TITLE: Summer Tour Assistants
GPA MINIMUM: 3.00
OPEN TO ALL: Especially Sports Marketing/Administration majors, dancers, as well as those interested networking and working throughout sports and the media.
HOURS: Typically 8-9 hours per game day, during June through August at ballparks across the United States.
WAGE: Dependant upon experience and available talent; negotiable. Transportation and hotel accommodations paid for by corporation.

JOB DESCRIPTION: America’s favorite sports entertainer, The Famous San Diego Chicken (performed by Ted Giannoulas) is seeking energetic people to assist his annual Summer Baseball Tour Road Show throughout America. Starting in June and going through August. Travel will be full-time by commercial airlines (depending on bookings). This is a hands-on experience of a lifetime for those who possess a sense of humor, balanced with a positive work ethic and a basic knowledge of baseball.
This is a fun, but labor intensive position with an entourage of about three to five employees, working mostly during evening hours at ballparks. Coast to coast travel with several non-work open days. Enormous exposure to sports administrators, athletes, media and the public. Proven impressive reference source.
The job involves informal interaction with fans and management of professional baseball clubs, players and may include simple acting and directing of comedy sketches, setting up props for shows and assisting with possible costume maintenance, as well as vending of souvenirs.
SPECIAL SKILLS: We are especially seeking an individual who can do any of the following: break dancing ability, advanced tumbling and gymnastics abilities. These skills would be performed while wearing show costumes such as “Barney the Dinosaur outfit” and actual baseball player uniforms.
PLEASE NOTE: Ted Giannoulas is the only person who wears The Chicken mascot costume and you will not be asked to substitute for him, only to assist in his show.
Applicants must be athletic, dependable, organized, outgoing, motivated, and work well in a team atmosphere. Tumbling, gymnastic skills and dance abilities are a real plus. Applicants need at least a basic knowledge of the game of baseball and baseball terms.
