Planet Bboy. - 05-06-2009, 01:31 PM

I recently saw the bboy/BOTY documentary called Planet Bboy.

I loved it.

I'm just curious what you guys think of it.

For me, it made me really have Bboy Joe on my mind.
He's siiick.

And what's with these countries making these whack showcases. Mad weird.

Here's my input:
Last For One - Siick Routine
Gamblerz - Okay routine. I wasn't a fan. Good theme though.
Phase T - NASTY intro. Nasty outro. Okay middle.
Knucklehead Zoo - I'm sorry, but I thought it was whack.
Ichigeki - Straight beastly.

Natural Effects & Arcopom Crew - I thought was whack and weird.
But that's all just my opinion.

Knucklehead got 6th place in BOTY 05. Who got 5th?

The time for stereotypes is over.
We need to break them one-by-one.

I'm actually watching Planet B-boy right now for like the 5th time, I wish I owned it and all other sick bboying and hip hop documentaries.
The performances were dope. The battles were dope. The stories about each crew and bboy were dope. Overall I liked it lol.

loved the codumentary hated the stariotypes it pushed

mainly "korean bboys are all about power and blowups"
still it was nicely made and you just gotta love the gamblerz show...it was total 100% sick...it's just that most people don't know that much about korean history and culture to understand it

If that's the stereotype people believe in, it'll still be an improvement from the pop-lock breakdance stereotype that's out there right now. xD

I understood their show and I thought it was maddd sickk too.
But idk why Sick was on the power side though ^^

I think they just got busted for not being clean with their ridiculously hard moves haha

Umm I dont know what planet you're from, but thats how the majority of the scene was in korea at that time. Very few were reppin that footwork/foundation tip. Also koreans were notorious for having shitty tops and subpar footwork...its gotten better but it is STILL that way today.

the documentary was amazing, but i was hoping that they would go into individual battling and not just crews.

Its true, and also the narrator or interviewed guy said that last for one was a crew that was different in terms of power...It was gamblerz which got the rap for having crazy power and its totally true haha. But koreans imo are starting to get elite level footwork now and have had several very good style based bboys for a while...

Planet BBoy is probably the best movie i've ever seen!

It gives me madd inspiration to see BBoy culture from around the world.

Hopefully Super Cr3w can get their act together and win BOTY 2009!!!
