Not sure if this belongs in GD, Music, or Word Up but..

I love Rock n' Roll. Hip-Hop music is awesome too but I mainly listen to Rock. I want to combine Rock and Roll music with bboying. I have read in a few places saying that you can break to most kinds of music. However, is it wrong to forget beats and instead dance to the instruments. I love breaking to the guitar/bass/vocal track as long as it isn't some super fast tremelo picking. (really fast strumming) For example..

Whats your take?

There are a LOT of songs that great to break to. Rock, Jazz, alternative, even pop. I can break to a lot. In fact, I've been combining contemporary and breaking, and I would dance to songs by Vitamin String Quartet.

That song is tight,
But most breakin song are hip-hop,
If thats your style of music you can work with it.
But if you get in a battle with someone, it would probably be hip-hop

I break to rock all the time. Really you should be able to dance to any style of music with a good beat.

I'm pretty sure Cico said he likes breaking to rock/metal, because apparently powermoves are based more off the energy of the song rather than the beats.

Actually a lot of breaks n stuff are based on 'white' music.

I dance more to the instruments then the beat. Usually just fast movements, but often on the 2nd or 4th beat I'll make a more foundational footwork movement hitting the beat while still going fast. With this I can dance to just about anything.
