I hate the thought that people are getting inspired from a show like that. Ok you do get popularity and such but i don't really like the show. Super Cr3w did well, but they were bboying and competing before they done that...so they already had respect before more of the generalpublic saw them.

Why are people inspired by things on ABDC?

i agree with you on some cases, but the thing is you can get inspiration from anything,i honestly think abdc isnt the best place, but i started getting more respect for being a bboy because of that show.it brought bboying back into the eyes of the general public, and as long as we dont have another crash like in the 80's the show isnt that bad.
my little cousin wants to learn from me now because he liked super crew, thats an experience im gonna be glad to have.

but yeah the show should be probably put off air LOL

I like the show as a show. It's just like any other competitive tv show we enjoy, except it has a little more to do with us.

what does bug me though, is when people who got introduced to bboying by abdc, start talking about bboying like they know everything about it.

and i think it's broken to the point where we're trying to compare different dance styles + once the people find a crew they like, they will never vote otherwise, no matter how much worse they danced that week.

oh and i think the show is rigged :P

I found ABCD quite good tho.. but I don't think they are world-class..
unfortunately the real America's best dance crews are not known..

i honestly like the show, pretty much anytime i see people dance, it inspires me.but I pretty much like the show because I've seen a lot of cool new moves and stunts. if you saw all the flips that the last winners "Quest Crew" did, you'd be blown away

reason y i post this is that there are better things to be inspired/motivated/brought into bboying by...and it's a shame to think that ABDC has "the best bboys in america" according to the general public (may not be true but thats wat it's getting at)

Because some have never seen it before and haven't grown up around it.

Put a little pep in your step...

of course the show is rigged, remember season one? wtf is w/ that bullshit that kaba got kicked off for some dumb racial reason (thats what i heard, and im not sure if its true, that status quo stayed on cuz they needed more black viewers and they keep the asian viewers through jabbawockeez), and the third season (i didnt watch the second cuz i was still pissed about the first) where beat freaks lost. i heard they were really popular, and real original. quest crew was good, but they're alot more stunt-like.

^ Damn, beat me to it. Word up tho, I had posted a blog about this on myspace a year ago when all the Jabbajockeez were going crazy. Its good and bad because it'll bring new people into that dance, but also brings in people that will only be around for a little while.

pwned zulu lol. and i typed a whole lot more. but yea, in that case, abdc is good cuz it gets kids to think that dance actually has a chance, but before abdc i dont think there was anything as mainstream that was geared specifically towards dance in general and not just bboying either

It's amusing, it's about dancing, so why not?

Honestly I think it's harder to get noticed in dance than anything else.

Obviously some girl or guy-girl mixed crew will win next year to make it more variety...

Super Crew was originated from KHZ who flat was terrible I don't think they had much respect before.
I remember watching there boty performance that was terrible... Only person successful from that crew was Ronnie...
The inspiration comes from Quest pretty much, who were really dope...
