Does it matter how they're inspired as long as they become dedicated dancers?
For real man, you bitch about some weird shit... |

I'll just start off by saying the majority rappers today have no intention of supporting hip-hop culture. If you don't support the culture, then you aren't really hip-hop.

As a dancer I was inspired by the members of Quest Crew. I'd never seen something as incredible. Immediately I came here, of course. Looked up tutorials, workout methods, diets, etc. I dance every day. I already am a dedicated dancer Did I grow up around Bboys? Do I have to have been around the BBoy culture my whole life to be considered a decent dancer? Answer me that. |

I'm free to say what i feel, people may not like it but the fact that i got it off my chest makes me feel a lot better. You may not respect my choice for not liking ABDC or watever but all i did was speak my mind...

I def agree i hate ABDC... and i HATE Jabbawockeez >_<
but I just keep in mind that its Americas best dance crew witch i still think is BS and not the WORLDS best dance crew but others that watch it and dont see that, just go on and on, on how Jabbawockeez are amazing... and I live in Canada so you can imagine how it effects the world....its funny because on planet bboy...the last time AMERICAS won was 1998 and it was Rock Force Crew... I think there are hellla better dancers in America then the gay Jabbawockeez i may be wrong or you may hate what i just said, but yeah my opinion ![]() |

WOWWWW....thread = fail.
Its ok to not like the show, but the reasons you gave...don't cut it bro. Who are you to say how ppl should get inspired. Everyone here was inspired for different reasons: You Got Served, that fucking Junior commercial, Step Up, blah blah blah. How the fuck did you get inspired? I'd love for you to answer me that because apparently it must have been the "legit" way. Get over it. And for the rest of you, ABDC is not about bboying, so please get over yourself. Its not meant to promote breakin, nor does it set out to promote breakin...it promotes street dancers (god i hate that term), period. Some are bboys, some do a mash up of different street styles, others have real unique circus shit...but it aint about breakin. As for anyone talkin mad shit, very few ppl here could even compete at that level, or hope to compete at that level. I see ppl talking mad crap about flavor, but most of yall don't even have flava to be talkin about it. Show n' Prove instead of whining about how the show does "this" and "that". How long have you been in the game, and how much have you done for it? I thought so, don't be so judgmental. Quest has been dancing much longer than a great deal of you, and a couple of their members have paid their dues before you even thought of breakin. I wonder who'd come out on top in a battle....moving on. Yes the show is obviously rigged, as is any show put on by a tv studio. I don't watch it for realistic results, I watch it to see ppl dance. As for quest beating beat freakz...they definitely beat them. I dont know how anyone can think beat freaz came out on top after the last two performances. That wasn't even in question for me. Quest was way more dynamic and out there with their shit. Breaking is dope, but you have to be able to go beyond that in a DANCE battle. Kats forget that bboying aint the only legit dance out there. That about does it for me. Good day. |

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that shouldn't cause any controversy. I mean, a part of being a bboy is also to respect other bboys.
I watched the show, and I quite enjoyed it. But what people tend to forget, is that the bboys from SuperCrew, Quest and Jabba are all on a much higher level than any of the bboys on the org. As said before, they already paid their dues, and therefore, I think its more than fair that they get some publicity. Now, what annoys me about the show, is the way the generel public reacts about it. Some random little kid suddenly thinks he knows everything about bboying, just because he saw ABDC. Its great that people get inspired and start dancing, but alot of the viewers are acting like they've been in the game for several years. I was browsing some bboy videos on youtube not long ago, and I came across a Gambler video. One of those vids where you see all the illest shit they've got. Now, this video had quite alot of views, and an aweful lot of comments. I went through some of the comments, and came across multiple that sounded something like this: "You guys are good, you could almost be in the Jabbawockeez." or "Pretty good, but not as good as Quest Crew"! I mean, Jesus Christ. You can't fucking compare Quest Crew to say, Gamblers. Its bboying on 2 different levels. And that is exactly what annoys me about the show. Just my 2 cents. |

BBoying is becoming a lot more mainsteam in the American media these days. If you turn on the TV, you will see a commercial advertising anything and it will have some bboying in it. You can even learn how to dance from ordering it on "On-Demand" Being "inspired from a show like that" are most people who don't have DANCING in their everyday life. Us BBoys, we can see it on the spot. Most people who get inspired by something like that don't get inspired by real life events. Some of my buddies i know are friends with bboys, but they don't bboy themselves. |
