Now if a form of this thread was posted before im sorry i couldnt find it in the search bar. But my question to yall the bboy.org community is what were you like before bboying/bgirling entered your life?
for me I fell in love with Breaking in the spring of my Sophmore year in High School. Before that I was a jockish type you could say I played Football, Wrestled and ran Track, listened to media rap, Rock, Heavy Metal, and Grunge. I hobbies were backyard wrestling, drawling comics, and writing stories. But even with those outlets i still didnt feel like i found the thing for me....until i found and started understanding Breaking. My whole outlook on society changed NO LIE lol. you know your a bboy/bgirl when even when your body is aching and you feel like you cant even walk and youget a call from your buds telling you theres a session that day and you give all you got to go and dance your ass off for the love of the scene and culture. I love this stuff and imma be breaking well into my kids futures :P How about yall? original question sorry for ranting |

Wow, well..
I was a runner, I wasn't too fast. I was around average. I was a cross country runner, skinny, yeah.. I was about 5'5 at 92 pounds. I had an okay time, I ran 3mile races all the time; my PR was 19:23, and it was all good. That was my freshman year. I used to be a big time gamer, explaining why my weight was so low, and pretty much I got into bboying. I loved writing, and I listened to Muse a LOT. Then when I started bboying everything changed. My music style (all I really listen to these days is hiphop..), my way of life, a lot of things. I like this culture a lot too; it helps you get out there, meet new people, make even more friends than you have, and best of all, it's a really respected hobby in society. A lot of people respect b-boys, for what we do because they know it's hard as hell and they appreciate that. My whole sort of perception of music change. I always listen to the beat meticulously these days, whether it's a classical song or a hiphop beat. Music just changed dramatically since the start of my b-boying. I honestly can't imagine how i'm going to look when I turn 40. I promised myself i'm going to have flares down, and then keep them for the rest of my life. I'll teach my kids how to be b-boys too if they want. But for now, it's just something I do. It makes me, me. Before b-boying I didn't have anything that was something I loved to do; until I found b-boying. I had musical talent, seeing how I played for a lot of wind ensembles and stuff, and I still do pick up and play a bit for my church for special service events. I think that's why I love toprock so much. You know, I never imagined that i'd be a "dancer." B-boying is a dance, and that pretty much makes me a dancer. I never thought i'd be who I am today if I looked in the mirror on March 28th, 2008. |

Before breaking, I played music. Trombone, guitar and piano.
I played lots of games, too bad I didn't have the up-to-date games. Like when the PS2 came out I would still be playing PlayStation. That reminds me I still need to bust some caps rite now. |

I liked Star Wars a lot and it was part of my life like everyday, still love it. I played a lot of games and I didn't do much, but stay on the computer. I listened to mainstream hip-hop, which I thought was gangster and cool. Haha, yeah it was a fail life I didn't do anything with my life.

anyways, yeah i did alright in middle school. (first semester/second semester i think) 6th grade - 3.75/3.8, 7th grade - 3.33/3.33, 8th grade - 3.4(?)/3.4(?) 8th grade i forgot what it was, but when i started b-boying in 9th grade i got 4.0 both semesters. i also started talking to girls more easily, wanting to hang out with them. |

I didn't really dance at all.
I rejected dance because I was afraid of what people would say but later on I said screw this. Started c-walking then got into this. xD |

props to you! ignore the haters :P they wont be talking shit when your doing airflares to airchair hops! xD i'd say i started breaking around half way into my freshmen year mostly myself lol because i had the same issue as emagination :S but eventually lol i just started going to sessions with bboys in my school and i started learning a lot more stuff probably the best thing i would say is getting over the fear of looking stupid while toprockin everything before bboying i was pretty much a gamer kind of guy not exclusivley but theres nothing else to do but im pretty sure dancing is the best thing i've ever done

ummm basically I was a gamer and I played rep hockey.
I also played the trumpet and would stay on the computer for long periods of time. I got into bboying by watching korean crews primarily rivers crew. Once i saw Born's orgasmic footwork I decided to learn how to bboy. Now, i usually listen to hip hop and I'm doing slightly better in school. I would have to say that bboying is a part of my daily life now |

hahaha i'm sort of still shy talking to them, but i can dance with them if they want to like at my party three girls tried dancing with i was like cool, but uhh how do i do this? because they were in like a circle hahaha. if they want to i would definitely dance with them, but when it comes to talking to them at school out of class it's hard and all the girls i like are always out my class. it's especially hard to approach them when they're with a group of friends like this one girl i know she hangs out with a girl group at lunch, so it's hard for me to talk to her haha.
