Our Bboy Names!!! -
03-26-2009, 06:30 AM
Your name, as a bboy is what represents you,, just like your real name.. there was a reason why your parents chose it for you. and that decission affected your regular life. but as a bboy you pick it, and its up to you if you make it known.. sometimes , even more than your real name.
When i started bboyin, i didn't know what name to choose.. i wasnt much into hip hop, i was more into heavy metal, i used to have spikey hair 6 or 7 inches long, i was in 9 grade at the time. one day ,, at my schools homecoming dance i just decided to rock it,, some ppl thought it was a lil weird watchin a rokr kid doing footwork.. at the time i only focused more on steps on the floor, but from bboying to metal i kinda picked up a nice speed, but i also do a lil poppin. some dude started battlin me and we started dissin each other nasty, but my last move was. me poppin while walkin like a zombie after my throwdown approachin one of my girl friends and actually biting her in the neck.. well not so hard, but you know how girls are they go crazy if you get close to their necks.. so she starts moving and kinda like falling.. it actually looked like a zombie movie.. and then everyone goes wild. you know how it gets. and after that day.. people would say hey. zombie, fits your attitude.. so i took it.. ever since then my friends call me that. some people when i first meet them, they think is a joke of is just a lame nick name, but that nick name has given me respekt around the people that know me, and the ones that dont actually find out with time... Whats your story.. |

Well I was in class and my friend Johnny just randomly called me DWreck because it sounded like my name, Derek. So I was like, what the hell, sounds sick. And ever since, Johnny has always called me DWreck and other people hear it and call me by it too.

The time for stereotypes is over.

haha thas dope
for me, i just always feel the beats without toprockin just like pretending to toprock and i really get into the songs. So my name was rhythm but for the longest time i could never remember how to spell it. It'd be like "rhytm? no then theres no "th" rythm? thats spellcheck'd wrong" and i wouldnt care what MS Word's spell check said cause i knew what i meant... but then i found out if you put it in all caps, it unspellchecks so i just said RTHYM and im like "hey that would fit my love for the music!" and thus my bboy name is RTHYM. then there's Llama and that's cause my last name is Lomba but most people misheard it as Llama so they thought my name was Llama HAHA. oh and everyone called me by my last name so yeah they were like "hey llama whaddup" lmfao but my niece has a cool bgirl name!!! Her name's corinne and her bgirl name is enniroc. She can rock any style (she's gettin really good at tap, jazz, ballet, bboying, hip hop, etc.). So when you pronounce enniroc, it sounds like "any rock" rock any style. and then enniroc is corinne spelled backwards. That was a dope idea. Props to razz for that name! |

God.... you don't EARN a name, either you come with one yourself or you use one of your common nicknames.
If I'd have picked my first fun Nickname (non dancing related) I'd be named BBoy Rabbit (story behind it has to do with my first girl and my best friend sitting downstairs enjoying the show just by hearing). But I picked BBoy Tyger 'cause I was born right between a tyger and rabbit year change by Chinese Astrology standards. Also I crawl a lot more out of my shell when I hit the floor and unleash all my energy at once. :P |

mine started off as bboy rockstar- rockstar was the mentality that me and my friends had that described our group, but it wasnt like an arrogant type of thing. it was that we were badasses we could do whatever we want and we would stick together to help the group.
then the song by the shopboys came out and i had to find something to change it to. so as a long puzzle i got it to RE* (star) still meaning bboy rockstar this kid at school would send me IM's with all this diffrent words with Rez in it. one day he said hey bboy rezzer, rez, rezzerection, etc etc. and i was like hey i like bboy rezerection (same meaning as resurrection) but didnt like the length so i kept it at bboy rez (full name bboy rezerection) |

Eh i had always liked the thought of flying so it had come to either Nal Gae (Korean for Wing) Tsubasa (Japanese for Wing) or plain and simple Wing. I figured too many people would have a hard time saying the first two haha.

i don't even think "which way" is my bboy name, but i just adopted it. whenever i learn ANYthing new, i always do it one way at first, then the opposite way the next time..and just leave it at that. like when i learned to six-step, i went clockwise, then i never kept up with it. when i re-learned it though, i did it counter-clockwise.
also i'll keep switching the side i baby-freeze on, it's weird. |
