I'm getting pretty sick of seeing this shit... -
02-19-2009, 11:19 AM
I'm getting sick of seeing all these new "b-boys" going around frontin like they know everything. All these new kids who start bboying and acting like they're the root of hip hop. They go around preaching and bitching about how "nobody knows real hip hop". Honestly it's almost like bboying has become a plague for some people. They go around and run all this shit out of their mouths like they think they're better than everyone else. They look down on people who krump and listen to soulja boy just because they feel that they are staying "true to hip hop". These are the people who down on c-walking because it's "stupid and talentless". They get mad at the crowed of people who "don't appreciate foundation". They rip on those who lack knowledge and act like they're better because they JUST learned about it themselves. These are the kids that go around saying "bboying is more than just a dance to me, its a way of life". These are the kids who start off thinking that bboying is some message from god thinkin that they are "destined to do this".
Get the fuck over yourselves, just because you've become a "bboy" it doesn't mean you've joined some exclusive club. So quit talking down on others because you "know" what "real hip hop" is. Theres so much more i'd like to say, but so little words to explain how i feel. I'll keep you guys updated. |

of course i was a noob. but that doesn't mean i acted like that. I'm not saying everyone acts like this, but majority of newcomers have. Thats why i said its "become" a plague for "some people".

If your tired of it then you should do something about it like make a tread about Hip hop and hopefully it gets a sticky
It should be in like every section. Something like the title saying Hip hop is a culture not a music genre, or something like that. Or get a well respected mod or person who knows his/her stuff to make a tread about whats hip hop. It may be some work, but in the end i think it will be worth it. If all that fails then its up to the older people, or people who know what up to educate people. Remember there still learning. Most of them arent even in grade 9 yet lol. ( lol and you know how freshmen act ) |

it would get overlooked and it wont stop. This is something that's been going on, every week there's going to be a new topic about it. I'm going to bitch about it while i can because in the next few weeks, it's going to happen again. It's a never ending cycle. |

Seems like a case of people just being assholes. But these new guys tend to be pretty young (correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm guessing this is more of a maturity issue than it is a bboy issue.

lol. i think it's a combination of most of the kids on here still bein in grade school and the fact that most of them don't have a crew. an extensive bboy site like this comes with evils of its own. because most of the people on here don't have crews, they only learn about hip hop on this forum. they don't have any bboy mentors to tell them what hip hop really is and what it isn't. also, i think that a lot of people go through that phase of at least disliking mainstream "hip hop" because it's not the real thing. it's just a matter of whether people are ignorant about it, as AsainxRomeo said, talkin like they founded hip hop and bboying, or if they keep their opinion to themselves and only share it at the right time.
and for the record, i dislike soulja boy not because he isn't hip hop, but cause the music i've heard from him is garbage that requires little to no musical talent. you can like him if you want, but i just wanted to go off on that little tangent for a sec. |

There are people I know that have their history wrong, but they are better bboys than me, so I don't correct them or anything. It's not really my place.
