... Add on? No, because you haven't really started. Powerheads can have musicality indeed, along with flow and finesse.
"Styleheads" and "Powerheads" don't really exist, from my perspective. "Style" is something that each person ideally has, and if a b-boy/b-girl emphasizes power, that's part of his/her own style. However, if you absolutely have to differentiate the two, then the essential difference you'd see is in their footwork. A "stylehead" would emphasize footwork, while a "powerhead" would emphasize power moves. That's all. |

Style basically means toprock and footwork. Stylehead is kind of a new term, I think coming mostly out of the commercialized asian scene. When I first started there was just bboys and powerheads.

basically the way i see it powerheads only do power or a majority of thier moves are power like cico or lil ceng ....not sayin they have no style but more powermoves
style heads are more rhythm hitters kid david or YNOT not sayin they have no power but dont rely on simply that |

well ok, if ur gonna use those terms, this is what they generally are
a Powerhead usually has a pretty negative connotation. It means that the main focus of the BBoy is power (mills, flares, etc.). A lot of the time, this is what noobs are that only get into bboyin to show off. A Stylehead (in this case positive connotation) is somebody who usually knows a wide variety of moves and adds in his own unique style to the moves. So, while you may not see a stylehead do a bunch of millz or flares, he can still bring some sick ass shit with his unique variations, transitions, etc. Another note: When you get up into the really high levels of bboying, you really can't label a guy as power or style head. You have to diversify, or you fall behind, so powerheads must get style and styleheads must get some power. There are still people, however, that focus mainly on powermoves. In these upper levels though, they aren't called powerheads. Basically, powerhead and stylehead are names given to newish bboys that are still developing their bboy style, and generally it is better to be a stylehead, though you should ideally be inbetween |

man this whole Youtube generation seem to have started the stylehead and Powerhead thing. there is really no such thing as Stylehead or Powerhead, they're just stereotypes and to be honest i think these words are just as bad as the word "Breakdancer".
A b-boy is a B-boy whether he is into Powermoves or just into Rockin' it. I seriously hope that people will realize how awful this is and we can all stop grouping each other into categories. anyway i agree with Philosophy and ZuluN. peace. |
