I don't see nice ufo-type moves done very often.....I see buddhas, but nice straddled UFOs and boomerangs I hardly ever get to see. there's a shitload of dope ass windmill variations that I don't see much either like w-mills....ground power ftw! edit: bah, mattie beat me to the explanation. |

It's because they've fallen from favour. Go back to around 2004-2005 time and they were huge in battles cause blowups were like the be all and end all. Crews like Expression, Vagabonds and also alot of Americans were using them in their blowup variations and cats like Benji and Junion basically built their repertoire for certain battles around freezes, with the airchair and its variations heavily featured.
However crowds get sick of seeing one move quickly and blowups passed as a phase into the current era where flow and attititude, as well as flava are the new order of the day, stressed most explicitly in any dancer's mental handbook. It seems to point towards a spiritual return to the dance's roots, as the elders of the dance itself (equivalent of lore holders or tribal leaders) are now reigning in some of the more divergent parts of bboying's elite. Or at least it could be looked at in that way. There's so much going on globally that i can't sum it up with 2 paragraphs but yeah. Which brings me to my point about underrated moves. I find it hard to pick, cause simply from glimpsing a peak at the multitude of bboying styles around nowdays, very few moves aren't used in a way that draws significant attention worldwide if it's dope enough. Peace |

I've only seen w-mills in taht battle between top9 and mind180..
basically, it's like munchmills, but your legs are pulled up and to the side so your lowerbody makes a W and you do mills like that. looks so fucking crazy. As for teh airchair thing, I still see airchairs fucking everywhere, just 'cause they're so versatile and they look dope as hell. after all, airchairs are pretty much a handglide on the back. |
