So, What's For Dinner? -
12-22-2008, 05:04 AM
Ok, maybe not dinner necessarily, but what do you eat before you know you're going to be dancing for hours, and when? I know I hear "carbs" frequently, but that's kind of vague, and people say different things about timing to get the most out of it. I tend to be more of a grazer and trying to gorge on a big pregame meal would make me sick, but then I keep hitting a wall where my body just can't put the energy out to keep moving at the level I want to when the night's not nearly over yet. But I'm pretty sure that just eating something high calorie doesn't necessarily equate to the best thing for performance.
So what's your recipe for success? |

I personally don't believe something like this needs to have so much thought put into it haha. I personally don't eat shit like mexican food before I break cuz I'll get gassy haha. Or don't eat a big ass meal before. But you should just eat w/e you're feelin; just enough to give you some energy beforehand y'know.

I usually don't eat much actually.
Practices are after school. And they're like down the street from my friends, so I just stay there until then. And during, we don't do much. And asking for a whole meal, well it's not gonna happen. So I just grab a extremely small snack and deal with the exhaustion during. |

Not really trying to overthink it, just trying to make what I eat count because I seem to burn out so quick and my blood sugar drops like a bomb. I think my blood sugar might just be a little wierd though. I probably just need to go read some cross country running sites or something though. (It's all endurance, so same deal).

You probably just have low stamina. When you get tired from breaking just keep pushing yourself.

That Sir, must be an innaccurate conclusion. If I'm the one with low stamina, why is it always the guy who can't go for round 2? Always gotta be all like "I'M TIRED WAHHH!" |

I personally don't eat before practicing, might get cramps. I do drink green tea before though if anything thats the closest thing to consumption of food.
