Going out second clearly has an advantage. You can see your opponent's set, it gives you time to think and figure out how to top their set. When you do go out, you know how much of your arsenal you want to throw. Going all out all the time would mean you would have less to throw in the next battle (and maybe in the short term, the next round). Lastly, people tend to remember the last thing in their minds. The last thing in their minds would be the person who went last. This would be a perfect time for some hyped-up blow up or burn done by the last person. This is also one of the reasons why crew battles tend to structure the times the crew members go out from the worst to the best.

eeh...there's a good amount of disadvantages too...

if first set is crazy dope, it's a huge mind fuck (I know...been on the receiving end of that waaay too many times), even if the other sets are just average....and the last thing people remember works in two ways...if you kill it, then people are gonna love you, but if you fuck it up........

I disagree, it doesn't matter if you go out first or second. If you do a dope enough round, the judges will still vote for you. So it wouldn't be the last person that went out, it would be the best rounds that stand out that would be remembered.

not only going all out, but putting emotion in your steps (aka, make them look percise), also, i practice a lot of uprocking: good way to diss, especially the arm movements (fake punches, etc.)

confidence must always be there when executing your sets or taunting your opponent.

1) Go harder than you do in sessions.
2) Hit the beats like always
3) Don't go all out first set
4) Don't sit down

You guys put to much weight on burns. Burns aren't going to win you a battle.

They probably just discovered what burns are, thats why theyre oh so hype about it haha. Just like the other kid on that thread bboying is an addiction. We all know we love to break, and we all know what burns are.

I just hate when people get carried away with burns, so annoying.

I don't like to perform burns. Sometimes kids desperately want to burn you, so they burn you for every single thing. That's disrespectful, especially if your set is not that bad or even better than his set.
Burns are a competitive signal. For example: I perform a burn, so I could win that battle.
A battle is a battle, without all that fucking burns as extras. Just battle and have fun.
