Learning problems -
10-26-2008, 07:04 AM
This is for serious input only.
If you are gonna hate or be a douche then fuck off. Does anyone have or know anything about memory or learning problems/disabilities? I seem to have trouble learning anything new and if I do somehow manage I forget how to really quick. I can be taught something a million times but I will forget within a few hours or so. This is related to bboying but I will use school as an example. In maths I remember nothing about what I'm taught. I can have a whole session on it and by the time I get home I have forgotten it totally. Same with bboying. I can train as hard as I like on any move but in the end I'll will start to get it and then just not be able to. Not on any single occasion either. It's constant, it's not like a bad day it's like just gone, failed, forever. I'm not stupid...people call me a nerd so I'm really not an idiot. I just can't pick up anything new and I keep forgetting old shit... Anyone with information...GOOD input...and whatever...help a brother out. Peace. |

Could you describe your problem more?
I can't quite seem to understand what you're trying to say. If you really had any learning problems, then you wouldn't be able to read and write. |

try to focus as hard as you can on remembering it and repeat what you're trying to learn as many times as possible. maybe repetition is what you're missing? like if you're breakin and you get a windmill. if you get the windmill then practice it like 10 more times and you still cant keep it, try more ya know? same with math. or maybe get a tutor/instructor who can target in on your problem and find a way to make things easier to learn for you.
best of luck |

Maybe you have a learning disability or something? You should find out from a doctor or something, it could be more serious than it appears. But I think doctors have more credibility on it than people on bboy.org.

Err...k...umm...
If you want to understand what I mean it's like... Not being able to remember stuff I just learned (short term), pick up new stuff and remember old stuff (long term). It might be more of a memory thing, but yeh I don't know so that's why i thought some guys on here might know. Better than going to the doctors, $50 to be told I need to work harder at things...pshh. |

Are you serious?
You understood or "learned" what I just wrote. Thought of an answer. Then replied. How is that NOT normal? |

just a small word on this. if it is a learning disability then it's a legitimate concern. thousands of people have such disabilities and they are so hard to self-diagnose because of social stigma involved with people who don't learn 'normally.'
the good thing is that there are a lot of methods to aid people with learning disabilities. the bad thing is that the tests to determine which learning disabilities you may have are usually very costly, though they may be subsidized by the government or health insurance depending on where you live. |
