Are Knee Pads neccessary? -

From what I've seen so far, most bboys wear knee pads. I know its for protection, but does it give you that bboy look?

Yeaya, knee pads make you look buck.
Not really :P Knee pads are just knee pads, they're there to make sure you don't grow a second knee-cap from all the impact. Most b-boys have knee pads underneath their clothes when they're battling anyways. |

I used to not wear knee pads, but after a while my right knee got bruised and hit the ground so often I had this solid growth inside my knee. It was this small round solid thing floating around in there. The doctor told me to lay off it or the thing would get bigger and I'd need to get it operated. So I just stayed off it and it went away, but since then I always use a knee pad.

Like Rath said, most bboys have kneepads on under their clothes. Wearing kneepads in a battle doesn't make you less of a bboy. I'd rather wear them and not get some injury the makes me have to stop breaking for a long time, or ever again. Already somewhat happened before, don't need it again.

I use mine for volleyball. Very helpful since I slide on the floor sometimes to get the ball.
But I don't wear them usually from breaking. I don't like the feel of them, seems like it's restricting my leg movements during feetworks and what not. But it could just be the kind I got. It's personal preference. But it DOES help with not getting bruises. I accidentally tripped my friend in volleyball practice and she wasn't wearing knee pads and se got a HUGE bruise on her knee. And if someone slides without kneepads they get a lot of scrapes. |

Suck it.
there was a sign that said "do not mix" and i thought of mixedwell - bboychop. |

I think any pads are necessary. I ignore anyone calling me a poser or a cheat for having them. It saves your joints a lot. I have knee pads, an elbow support pad, and a pair of wrist supports. I use volleyball pads. They are all material, they are very soft and supporting/absorbent and they are flexible. They work good for slides and spins too, but if you want since they are thing you can wear them under your outfit.
