Ulnar Nerve problem... and whats that freeze... - 10-14-2008, 09:48 PM

okay i noticed when i do elbow freezes and stuff such as airbabys...
If i hit a certain part of my elbow my ulnar nerve "funny bone" tweaks out and i go numb dependin on how much damage i put into it
Ive learned to go around it and try not to hit it but does anyone else have this problem?
I dont think it has the same affect on the other arm which kinda disturbs me

Also whats that freeze Menno is hella killin all the time? Like the signature one i think he is stabbing his leg when he does it?

i know the freeze u are talking about, ive been trying to do that too. Its pretty hard to balance. I dont really know if it has a name, but incase ppl dont know what ur talking about its, an unstabbed baby freeze with your head off of the ground and only using the arm underneath your leg to support you. SO say i stab with my left hand, i would be using my right hand underneath my left and right legs to balance. its mad hard.

I call those "side babys"

Its sorta like an airbaby where you stab your opposite arm or like hijite said its like a baby freeze where you stab your knee but not your torso, that arm being strait

But... his first freeze, as many others are in that video are just regular baby freezes.

They're called tiger freezes, or ball freezes. Name doesn't really matter anyways, it's not so hard if you practise for a few days. Doing it 1-handed is the bitch!

Place your arms down to your side and place your leg above your elbow (i.e. the side of your thigh). Don't stab into your stomach, just keep yourself up. Takes a bit of strength. You can do it with your elbow on the ground too.

I just realized I do know about some ulnar nerve problems =P Im not so sure thats the problem in your case though. The most common injury dealing with the ulnar nerve (which is the nerve that deals with your ulna, one of the bones in your arm) is a type of tendonitis called golfers elbow (sorta like tennis elbow but on the medial part of the arm rather than the lateral). Do you do any other physical activities that may involve overuse of that arm?

I think what you're talking about is a pressure point at the end of the fore-arm in between the ends of the radius and ulna bone at the elbow. You just gotta be careful not to hit it because joints (elbows, knees, etc.) are places in your body where nerves are more gathered together than other body parts. Sometimes I accidentally hit that pressure point against a table-edge or desk-corner, and my entire fore-arm spazzes out, also sending a slight shock up my upper-arm. Try and concentrate on resting your knee a little above your elbow when you try air-babies.
