Help With Keeping Legs Apart -
03-05-2008, 07:46 PM
Alright I know what's wrong with my mills but the problem is I don't know how to fix it.
I start from the turtle freeze like many guides tell me to. But when I'm stabbed in the turtle freeze I find it really hard to keep my legs straight and apart. I watched a few videos and it seems it doesn't have to be straight when starting the mill, so that you can kinda kick them harder for more power. But because I can't seem to swing my right leg up (I go CCW; stab on my left), when I collapse, I collapse near my hip rather than onto my shoulder.
I can do mill rotations but they're not as smooth as they should be, and I obviously lose a lot of power after the collapse. Is there any exercise or stretching or anything else I can do to fix my problem? I've tried doing splits stretching but it doesn't seem to help (actually my split is pretty nice). The muscles seem to work differently when I'm stabbed.
Oh yeah, and I've tried twisting my hip a bit but it made it hard to keep my left leg straight, so when I collapse it's even more strange.
Help?
