Progress on mills - 02-19-2008, 02:41 AM

Alright I got consecutives now but I still need to work on my initial rotation... sometimes it hurts a lot cuz i land on the right-ish side of my pelvis after I collapse... I still cant find a solution to that! All the rotations after my first dont hurt at all.

Anyways, critique my mills

Mills are good, just need practice now.

If only the first initial swing is bothering you, try doing it from standing and you might have different results.

I know I've seen one video guide that shows how to do it as part of the windmill, but I just "did it" when I learned how to do it. It's a pretty natural motion if you know how to windmill.

as far as making your mills better you need to stab higher and spread your legs and you will have that in days....but for your pelvis hurting when you collapse try to get higher on your back by kicking your swinging your right leg higher as you collapse right now you are basically swiping it under your left flat on the ground..hope that made sense and helps..pz..

What a coincidence. I was going to ask the same thing because I have a similar problem. My first rotation is my main problem because I land a little low near my hips. It's also annoying because landing like that instead of rolling over the shoulders really eats up a lot of momentum, so I find myself grinding my first rotation trying to rebuild the momentum. I'll try doing it from standing too. I hope it helps me out too.

you're right about the "grinding for the momentum" part... the starting from standing position sorta helped me but I found out I was doing it wrong... turns out in the first rotation, you kinda have to swing your left leg (if you're going CW) a bit to the left (sorta like diagonally up) so that it'll pull your body to the left and then initiate that first kick... however, it's a lot harder than it sounds to me. I've been working on that for quite a while.

lemme know if you solve the problem cuz i still have it
