serious windmill injury? help - 02-15-2008, 10:43 PM

well ive been learning windmills (clockwise) and part of windmills is the collapsing bit as you know. when i first started off, i push myself onto my shoulders or tried to
and i would land on my right hip/lower right back cause my feet isnt high enough. and its been about a month and ive gotten better at collapsing and doing one spin but there is this acute pain on my hip/lower back
is it possible ive fracture my hip or pelvis? it hurts when i bend my right leg outward, to the right and there is no sign of an injury looking at it
so any ideas? i really dont want to go to the doctors ya know?
well any helps is REALLY appreciated

Probably inner bruising.
Likely not have fractured your hip no matter how bad your windmills are.
Still, you should lay off of it for several days.
If you want to, you can fix your collapse first so you can avoid this problem completely. Your hips are never supposed to touch the ground when you're windmilling. You can do this on carpet so you can fix the form before you go back to a harder surface.
When I was practicing windmill, I would hit a bone in the middle of my back. You know, the one you roll on when you backspin. It hurt a lot. So I tried all I could to avoid that bone and my form improved and it stopped hurting.

that hip thing sucks. i did that. its just terrible bruising. to fracture a hip at a young age is hard. youd have to find something a lot harder than bone do fracture it.

heres what you do. every night in the shower let the warm water rinse on the bruise. and rub the bruise (its goanna hurt a bit). what this will do is recycle the blood out of the tissue so the tissue gets some fresh oxygen and revitalizes quicker. dont like straight up rub it vigorously but put some pressure on it. itll hear 2 times as fast

Im pretty sure if you fractured your hip/ pelvis you would REALLY feel the pain.
Just always take breaks from bboying. Every injury will get worse and worse if you avoid it.

BBoying for 5 months.

Working on:
Speeding up footwork
Mills
Walking turtle/ crickets
1 handed airbaby
airchairs
Freezes (Pikes, Nikes, Forearm Nikes etc. )

ha probably. windmills probably wouldnt cause that big of a damage though so i might not feel severe pain. but i was afraid it cracked the bone a little
so hopefully thats not the case

first week of my mill practice omg I tried it too. I was so stubborn that I had to continue to practice them, but I kept landing on my hip and had to skip practice for a few days. But now I got the collapse right and its going smoothe like gravy!
