Some advice for collapsing. Am I doing wrong??? - 02-15-2008, 05:20 PM

Hey guys!!
I would like some advice for correct collapsing. I have read all the guides for mills but when its time for the collapse something is going wrong?? I will try to post a video later. I collapse at the top of my right shoulder. It hurts a lot there and it is a little bit bruised. Is it supposed to go like this? Get bruised in the beginning or is this because of Im doing something wrong? I do it CW. I stab with the right hand in handglide position.
Anyways, I will upload a video soon so you can tell me what Im doing wrong.
cya!

haha dude you have the exact same problem as I do! like word for word. I've been workin on it tho...i've found that if you push down with your left hand it helps you get onto your back better, and also make sure your feet are far apart and you swing your hips hard

Currently Workin on:
WINDMILLZ

you're supposed to start the roll more on the back of your shoulder blade, not your shoulder bone

Generally speaking, yea, you are on track. All of us had problems with shoulder pain when we started learning DA WINDMILL.So in that perspective you are on track. But a mill done correctly should NOT hurt at all.

I never really had that problem starting... so i dont know what to tell ya, but i would practice with your face touching the ground before going backside, have your head turned with your (left cheek CCW sooo..umm ) your right cheek touching the ground. this will help you collapse properly without the painful shoulder damage. Hope that helps in your practicing
Peace and Love,
good luck

I think you should collapse a little lower, not too high on your shoulder, like k1ng said. but don't worry at first it hurts but the pain stops after a while.
