It has been some time since i havent practiced mills and just recently i started to work on them again BUT everytime i try to do them the joint connecting my left leg and the hip (I go cw) kinda hustles and feel pain. How can i solve this?
Seems to me like the muscles connecting the left leg and the hip are a bit weak. Do some strength training exercises on that area before you get back to windmills or you'll be in for trouble.

I would suggest leg lifts while standing and lying down to all sides (front, back, left and right).
First try it with just body weight, if that's too easy for you, then attach some weight to your leg. Do it slow and steady so you can get maximum benefit from the exercise.
