3rd day on Mills *vid* - 01-31-2008, 03:06 PM

I'm new, and been tricking for about 2 years now. I just recently started getting into bboying (lol like 3 days ago)

Here's my progress on my mills. Is this about average for only being at it 3 days? Any tips on how to improve and continue the swing?

your swing is way too early. you're not doing the proper handglide motion so you're basically going head first into the ground because your stab isn't properly collapsed the moment your swing momentum kicks in.

solution is to do a short handglide and time your swing so that momentum kicks in right before you collapse. also, keep your initial swinging lower to the ground. you're angle (body to the ground 0:02) right now is too big and will eat up all your power fast.

It's a bit better, but always remember to keep your hips UP. You are not kicking upwards. you are kicking more sideways. I really think it is good that you are already starting to tuck in your head and roll on y our forehead. I know a lot of people that started mills and always ended up getting a facefull of floor (cough, me). So just keep practicing and post another vid in a couple weeks. Posting daily wont really benefit you.

thats pretty good for 3 days

took me 3 weeks just to get a single rotation down, i still think your kinda high though personally

Heh, same here.
Hit my chin/lower lip area and my teeth gashed the inside of my lower lip. Floor was really cold too haha. The blood was very annoying.

Also rolling on your forehead allows your legs to be a bit higher.

thanks for the advice as well.

I plan on getting them down in 2 weeks. Well see how close I end up getting to my goal.

Swing > Kick. Try doing just collapse into backspin to get that clean then work up into the mill. How I used to practice restabing is to rollback into it. Sounds weird but it worked for me. Peace.

your 2nd rotation isn't on your upper back because you're not collapsing early enough after your 1st rotation. once your left hand touches the ground for your restab, you need to start collapsing (turning over).

remember to go in circle, your second rotation goes up and down not a cricle and you simply fall
