linking/everything of mills. HELP - 09-28-2003, 11:37 PM

Whats going on? Aight, im new to the whole breakin' deal. Dont know shit, but at least i know that. Basically:

I can start my mills by stabbing but it feels like i am just collapsing/falling as opposed to rolling into it. basically, there is no way i can possibly have enough momentum to link a mill the way im doing it. my legs are straight, im kicking hard, but somewhere my mometum dies.

If i start my mills from my back, i have a lot better momentum but when i stab and get up again, i collapse too quickly and dont spin on my hand at all, im rushing it. The problem is, on film it looks like im on my hands way too long, and my legs are way off the ground. its like i go from a mill to some handstand/hurting my neck deal.

Also, my wrist should hurt a lot, right?
help is appreciated.
Is there any one thing that helped people who couldnt link mills or get enough momentum? I have each part of the windmill, but when i try to put it together its sloppy. peace -max

i think if i just stopped trying to do it, and just did it. stabbing seems like its the more correct way, but i spin so much faster frmo my back. either way though, i need to do both things well to be able to windmill. should you use your right hand a lot? maybe thats where i get lost.

When stabbing i use my left hand but somehow lost my momentum..whereas today i tried lying on my back (sitting) and could almost go for the second mill..people say that the fundamentals are all the same but some recommend the beginners to start from stabbing.. i'm still practicing both ways even tho it seems i'm progressing more when i start sitting on the floor!!

Yo, i actually think i got stabbing down pretty well. I have yet to do the second mill smoothly but i get back to the stabbing position start, without falling. the key was to roll into your forearm and then onto your shoulder. this happens naturally when your stabbing hand (left arm) fingers are pointed away from your feet when you collapse. basically, i start with my fingers pointing left, and spin 90 degrees before collapsing. it helps a lot. now i can actually control the kick and everything. and nothing hurts.
