Talking ~Babymill Guide~ - 05-30-2002, 12:33 PM

Ok I was just sitting here reading some posts and saw a few peeps asking about babies. So I thought I would write a little guide for yall .

Ok first off, I heard drizzt asking about the position of them. You should have your arms out holding a barrel position, with your legs crossed at the ankles ( counterclockwise- left leg over right, clockwise- right leg over left and to do babies remember you need alot of speed, so I recommend starting them from standing position.

_THESE ARE FOR COUNTERCLOCKWISE BABIES_

Start off standing up and take a step back and to the left with your left leg(you know like you would normally go into mills from standing). Once you get on your back you have to quickly get into position. So while you are on your back bring you legs in just about as much as u possible can and cross them at the ankles with the left one of the right, you should also be forming the barrel position with your arms right now. Next you want to kick your legs that are crossed in a diagonal up & out direction. This is what you get all your momentum from and how you keep the babies going. Once you gave a good kick in the air with your legs, your back should lift a little off the ground. So that split second right after you have just kicked, you take your arms and throw them clockwise. Its gonna take you a while to get them from touching the ground so at first you might wanna pull your arms in a little as you are doing them. If you done all of this right your body should be twisting now and you should be landing on the back of your left shoulder. Congradualations you just done 1 baby mill, well probaly not , but you will have 1 soon enough. And theres no secret to really doing more then one,,, you just follow the same routine you did the first time. Just remember you have to have alot of momenum and speed to keep these going. And one is really easy to do its more then one that makes them hard. So good luck on them, and post any questions that yall think I could help yall with,, peace yo

I got a problem when I'm doing babies. I'm doing everything you described like pumping with my shoulders, but when I'm doing babies, I end up rolling across my face instead of my forehead. I can get on my forehead when i try to do nutcrackers but not babies.

Try not to go on your forhead,, I do mine without using my forhead. I just try to completely over missing the front of my body, but some times my arms will hit the ground for a second when I dont have enough momentum and this helps me get back around to my back sometimes too. Also one of my friends was telling me that they are easier to learn starting off using your arms, like on stab mills, while you are doing the babies. So maybe you should try it like this first. But I think if you give a really good kick and twist hard, that you will be able to sneak right past using your forhead. Once you get them fast enough its like your just skipping in the same spot off your back then flying,, off your back then flying,,, hope this helps , peace out

Okay, I get the kick very well, but I cant kick them vertically enuf and when I kick I dont bring them back in fast enuf to have momentum to do the next one. I can do a babymill barrel roll, but I just have problems getting tucked back in and being on my upper back to roll again. (what I mean is I kick a little bit too horizontal and dont land back on my upper shoulders.) But Im sure if I just try them enuf I'll get em. Thanks for the guide. Peace.

Try to look at the floor instead of touching it with your head it helps. When you go down look at the floor until you touch it and the when rolling over try to look straight down at it that kind of makes you get straighter up and your face shouldnt hit the floor.

I have a nice tip once you can do at least 5, you can hop your babyies like 2-3 feet in the air they are a rush this way. I can only hop then like 8 times in a row becuase they can be slowed down if you don't hit them right but..

When you're on your back of your babies kick your legs extended like and you can hop like 1-2 feet at least. They are off the hook that way if you like to try it have fun ^^.

Hoppers:

Fast ones
Ok now to do faster babies at incredible speeds. You can go much faster on these then windmills. Now everytime where you would usualy stab or hop. Using your head makes you fly and if you: jerk your body, Kick your leggs hard as hell, and use your head you can go fast. Also the more compact you make your body during babies the faster you can do them. Also jerking your body hard to the right *counterclockwise* Helps w/ hoppers too and if you get good you can go from hoppers to fast to hoppers to normal to geneies, barrels whatever your good at.

I hope you understoood that I was a lil' excited writing it ~PeAcE~

I find that if you start from a normal mill with your legs extended, then once you're on your back you curl and kick you gain a heck of a lot of momentum, enough to do at least a second one even if you're not experienced with baby mills.

The trick I find is that you probably want to roll high on your back, and as a lot of people mention, use your head. It's tough to use your head if you don't mill using your head, but it sure is a really good tip because it works. Gets you started into halos too.

So curl, then kick, curl, kick. Two easy.

Oh, and one more thing, if you combine a baby mill and a suicide you get a baby mill suicide. (duh) It's a pretty sweet move to do, it's one of the first ones I start off with in a battle.

1) Go into a baby mill from a windmill so you get lots of momentum
2) Curl and kick
3) Kick far out and keep your legs out to keep your body rotating
4) Land on your back with your arms out and your legs perfectly straight out.

It's pretty easy to do and it looks awesome. I've included a video clip of my own at home, but it looks horrible because I'm limited with room, and I'm doing it on concrete//cardboard, which is a terrible combination by the way. Have your fun.

hahaha yeah for sure - they look pretty sweet. *ugh* I did a few baby mills today and split open my leg coming across on one of them so my pants are ripped up and so is my leg. Not a good combination - blood on the concrete. So kids, don't break on concrete, even if you have cardboard laid out. It's just not worth it.
