UPDATED! Easy Tutorial on Downloading MP3 Off Videos, Converting and editing. -

This was originally posted back in 2006 so a little outdated... Anyway, I found a way easier and quicker method that should work with any video and audio hosting site.
Method 1. Simply enter the URL into the address bar, the website will convert the song for you (You will be able to download an MP3 instead of a .FLV file that you would have to convert yourself. Overall its a good way. For the slightly more advanced who enjoy their MP3 Quality to stay good check out Method 2. Link Here -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Method 2. If you are using Mozilla Firefox to browse the internet, you can download an add-on that will show you a Link next to any youtube video, clicking on it will immediately forward you to the website and start converting, its literally a single click of effort. Its convenient, but the best feature is that you can download the MP3s in their HQ Quality! and also as a straight MP3. This method is recommended by myself, but drawback is that it only works with youtube. This one is just another alternative, I added this one because sometimes your favourite song is only hosted on one less popular website, this is where File2HD comes into play. This website will give you all of the URL's content in a list and you can choose which to download. Link Here -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Converting Only method 3 requires you to convert the download into an MP3 yourself. If you need to then check out SUPER its the best converter around I know of, lots of options and customising and a very large list of files you can convert to (MPEG, AVI, MP3, MP4, IPOD, PSP etc.) SUPER -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Editing Audacity is a free audio editing program that you can cut parts of your MP3s out on, so if for example you have a song that you want on a Red Bull BC video, you will probably want to cut out the host calling out the bboys. You can do that with this program. Audacity Hope this will help you on your hunt for those bboy tracks, take it easy. |

I'm having trouble with the Riva FLV encoder part, I downloaded it, and I did what you said, but when I look back at the video, its only 34 seconds long out of 7:48, I putted 450 in the duration thinking that would help but it didn't work either... help plz

hmmm. Shame i havent got it at the moment its because ive just got a new computer. BUT !!! LISTEN !!! i had this problem also and it could be because you HAVE TO watch it first with the RIVA PLAYER just watch the whole thing. Also make sure its the right download and stuff. Hope this helped.

yo i use nvidia nvmixer, and select stereo mixing option, so when i start recording a sound, the computer get's the sound direct from my soundboard...
i use goldwave to record the sounds....... sry for bad english. |

Yeah i use some of my software too and not the way i have done in my guide because some of the stuff i have is licensed so i didnt know if there was a free and if there was if they had that option in. Obviously DJ's will probaly some better ways than the guide but oh well its the simplest way to do it pretty much for people not so experienced with PC's/

Yeah it does lol. Its such a fucked up way to get audio of a stupid video lol but ya know. Gettin a video is an artform itself... so is converting and so is ripping music lol.

hehe i was gonna write something like this, my way was different though and took a lot longer but it went a lil somethin liek this:
-first you have to get the vid on your computer(explained in detail above) -open windows movie maker and import the file for editing, trim all parts from the video not including the song (like the intro or somethin) (this step is not neccessary if the vid just has the song, this makes the process much faster) -after you have the clip with just the song you want burn it to a CD-r, wich only supports music files and the file will be converted to mp3 or wmv or watever. -take the cd out and then rip the contents of the cd back to your computer and youve got the song on your comp yay! the quality of the song isnt as good as songs taht you download or get off a store bought cd but hey, you wanted the song, and now you have it. |

Gay. It works for YouTube and shit but I tried downloading a video from PcPlanets and it didn't work. It says error invalid URL or something but it says on the site that they support videos from PcPlanets. Can I get some help on this?
