Danis Kool: September to December 2004 - 12-11-2004, 01:11 AM

Havent posted a clip for ages... tell me wot u think

okay in this vid is from
- Dancekool Vol.10 (26-9-2004)

This is from a comp i entered... and i took that comp... this shows how the level in Sydney is still pretty low compared to the rest of the world... the footage on the other battles i got is on pretty bad angle that is y i didnt put in the clip

Songs:
4sec - 28sec: Parliament Funkadelic - Knee Deep
30sec - 1min 17sec: Cameo - Candy

Cheers
Danis Kool

A few definition that i use to describe dance in general

Dance: Movements done to portray the music.
Dance styles: Specific movements done to portray the music.

The vid is from:
- Dancekool Vol.11. Semi Finals B: Future VS Danis Kool (5-12-2004)

Songs:

0sec - 2min 7sec: George Kranz - Din Daa Daa
2min 7sec - 5mins 15sec: Unknown... so if any1 knows the name, that track is so funky

The quality of the vid is okay comparing to the original size 100megs!!!!

I dont really see much improvement in both events... here are the stuff i see i need to fix up

- Move my Right hand since it doesnt really move
- Do more dime stops, im always moving
- Air posing, never put any in
- Different angles of positions
- Spin or Turns
- Levels, change them constantly, i hardly bend over
- Turn 'clock wise'... i can only turn counter clockwise
- Move my legs wen i tut
- Think of more variations cus i look repetitive
- Harder hits/pops of course

About Future VS Danis Kool Part:
- His from N.Z
- Future learnt off Sugar Pop.
- u can see the skill level between us, a 'person who was taught proper foundations' VS 'a person who just watches clips and doesnt really know the foundations'... so it was a really good experience battling n meeting him
- Froze up a couple of time wen i was battling, was more nervous than usual... hehe proli sensed his skill level, proli that triggered the adrelene rush i had wen i battled him
- still need to practice battling skills
- i rekon i did okay for a 'backyard' person
- managed to learn some foundations off him

- That battle has made me want to go back AGAIN and learn as much foundations CORRECTLY as possible... then ill add my flavour to it... I dont really know any1 in Aust that know proper names/foundations except for 1 guy who knows only some... but he lives in a different state, all i have now are vids
- So hopefully in a few months i will be 10x better than now!!

For those who didnt work it out... i lost, and Future ended taking the whole comp!

Cheers
Danis Kool

sup bro.....i thought you did good....just a few things to look at....this is on both vids but ill just comment on the first one....you do this leg move (8sec) from right to left a lot....with the same leg.....just switch that up every once n a while....work on hittin a bit harder...sometimes it looks like your tryin to think of a move to do and you stopped dancin...moves will come to ya dont worry bout them...just keep dancin and hittin bc that is the main part of your aresenal....ummm....theres a few lil things but you did pretty well overall...just lil things that i noticed and nothin big...keep it up....payce

hmm...

i liked the videos, Danis!

let me just say that if you were to put it in such a way as "Backyard dancer vs trained dancer" i would say you did more than hold your ground.

your boogaloo is pretty good! but yeah like you yourself have said, and so did ChippaStyles, dont do half of a walk-out over and over with the same leg.

i think that your hits were alright, i think mine are weaker than yours. the second round during the battle, you started off with quite abit of waving... maybe you could try to, you know, variate them or spread them out a little, as in... dance a little, do a wave, dance a little, do a wave.

basics? learn the flexes. the Twist-o-flex, the neck-o-flex and my favourite, the Master Flex. hahah...
why? because i realised... there are so many ways you can variate any of the flexes and add your own flavour, and also alot of boogalooers use them almost all the time, just that with a little variation it looks totally different.

i'm not really a boogaloo person... at least, not yet.
i would like to learn the proper boogaloo though! haha.

and sorry man i dont know the title of the 2min 7sec - 5min 15sec song.

and i dont really get a "dance" vibe from Din Daa Daa. maybe it's just me. hahah.

good videos, Danis! keep it up... or just get higher in your level of dance.
good luck with the foundations, i hope you learn all that you can.

hmm i just re-read my post and...

before any misunderstandings happen,
when i said "i dont really get a "dance" vibe from Din Daa Daa"
i didnt mean the video clip, Danis...
i meant the song.

cos you were asking about the song being funky...
so i just said that i'm unable to really dance to Din Daa Daa but you guys did! haha...

hope there wasnt any communication breakdown here...

I finally got this thing to work after a week or so of looking through codecs....damn formatting harddrive.

LOL Quit puttin' yourself down man...that was amazingly well done. September to December isn't much time to improve, especially as time goes along and you get further and further into popping.

Vs. Future: I could tell you weren't really as hyped as in Vol. 10...maybe it was the pressure of seein' someone like Future. Haha. Not much to say, you listed what you need to improve on, you set goals for yourself, it's only a matter of time before you reach 'em. Get down on it man. Nice way to hold down for bboy.org. LOL.

Peace.

Check out my first audio freestyle, and second audio.... Drop some feed, I'm still learnin'!
