I dunno what you told chippa, but I'm justgonna go by the name of the thread
Feeling and Dance In terms of feeling, your waves and the interpretation of the music with them was on point--but only thru your arms and limited portions of your upper body. You almost completely ignore anything below your hips and stay quite static most of the time. Now, I'm not saying your not moving at all, but theres a lot of room for improvement and it would definitely add a lot of detail and allow you to more artfully and masterfully express your interpretation and feeling of the song Also, incorporate more head movenents (rolls, turns, looks, isolations) as that will also greatly add to the dynamics also, please please work on your hits. You can pop, but you are often off beat with them, which hurts because you are pretty on point with the waves. It actually detracts more than if your waves were off beat too, because we can see that you understand how to ride the music and be on beat, but are falling off when performing the basic/fundamental thing of the dance. Haha, this sounds liek a lot of negative criticism, but you actually did really good, but this is just some advice to get you to the level you wanna be at. |

not to throw myself into your topic...but I focused on this same thing about 2 weeks ago, just using mostly feeling and being dancy..heres a clip and kinda how I go about it.
Its always interesting to compare how people with different styles look when doing a 'feeling' practice hehe |
