i suck at botting but i have an observant theory about it based on what i've seen.
to me, botting is all about precision, steadiness, and consistency. in other words, (1) having exact control over your joints, axes of rotations, and where your limbs move/are moving/stop/will stop. for this, you just need to practice dimestops. (2) maintaining absolute rigidity and stillness of any given body part at any given time. think about how actors freeze in between some scenes of a play in theater. the good ones don't even blink. (3) shifting/maintaining modes of speed and minimizing all visible changes in acceleration/deceleration. i think this is what separates botting from dimestopping. there is a map to every machine; to be true to the blueprint, a machine will be predictable and hopefully efficient. fast/slow/erratic stops or changes in speed usually mean a broken robot or gadget. as you can infer from these 3 points, botting requires a challenging amount of patience and attention to subtle movements AND exact freezing. there needs to be a clear contrast between motion and discrete forms/poses. i think many poppers mistake botting for a bunch of sharp or wide movements followed by what they think is a solid stop. if it were as easy as that, botting would suck. critique: (i'm ignoring the waving) there's way too much bounce at the end of your stops which are coupled with over sized movements. these organic and loose qualities have no place in a robot. without getting into a lengthy philosophical discussion on what differentiates life forms from machines, let me just start you off with the concept as simply as i think it began with what i wrote above. keep payce. |
