CORRECTING THE HISTORY OF MY ROCKING YEARS
============= Buz Touch Of Rock ===============

My name is Buz, and I was born in Puerto Rico. At the age of four years old, I came to leave In New York, the Williamsburg (south side ) of Brooklyn. I lived there until I was 11 years old. This means that I came to live in Brooklyn NY in the year 1966 and moved to Bushwick in 1974 where I went to JHS 291 as a seventh grader at the age of 12..from the age of 10 to 13, I was involved in gangs without my parents knowing. I guess I was just trying to fit in with the crowd so gangs was the only option at the time ....Up until I got into dancing which I was encouraged by my older sister Migdalia A.K.A. Mickey! It was her who talked me into going out and getting involved with dancing , and got me to hang up the out law looks and jumping into the slacks and flat shoes . It was her way of turning me away from gangs...Not to mention that I had come around some real bad experiences, seeing friends die, hurting innocent people and running into the law at a younger age and also putting my parents through miseries and bad time ...It is why I thank the dance Rock and also the Lord who I'm deeply involved in right now!

As I come in to the topic of the dance rock! The dance rock is a dance that I was deeply involved during the 70's. From 1986 up I turn my back on the rock dance but kept it in my heart !! Not before I saw it transform from Rocking to Lofting to Breaking ,,Now this is a judgement of what was in my surrounding because I can bet that breaking and loafting was around way before 1986,,,I moved out of Brooklyn in 1999 and got married and together my wife and I had two special children Erica and Justin ..I traded my Rocking shoes for a pair of skis .Sking has become my new habit, in 2001 King Rock a.k.a (RC) gave me a call and asked me to slip into my Rocking shoes...Today I come back to live a dream from the past...but I came back not much dancing Rock, but sharing the History of Rock from the 1970’s.
I have posted many posts in some of the forums like
Dynasty Rockers Est. 1973 and phpMyAdmin 2.10.1
Its where most of the Rockers, B-boys , Poppers , Rappers and Graffiti writers express there history….
Anyway, jumping into the topic of expressing my history I have wrote a lot of stuff without paying attention to what I was writing in the case of my history as a rocker back in the 70’s everything that I said about Battles , Rock crews , and everything that I had experience back in the 70’s were all an honest true..
The only thing that I have mislead the public and the history was in the!!DATES!! It is very important that we set all the days of this history correct because if we don’t do so than we will throw many history of other dancers history off !
Like I named this topic:

((IT'S AMAZING THE HISTORY YOU CAN FIND WHEN YOU GO THRU THE ATTIC OF MOMS OLD HOUSE!))))

I went to my moms house to help her clean out her old attic and while I was going thru the old stuff she had, I came across this class picture of mine…The picture was taken in the ealy year of 1974 where I pose in the picture with this black vest and a collar shirt and a pair of black slacks and with these black combat boots, a pair of boots that I will never use during my Rocking years, which tells me that I was not dancing during 1973 or 1974 which also tells me that the group Touch Of Rock did not come out in 1972 because I was not dancing Rock in 1973 , My rocking days were the ending of 1974 where I rocked solo but not really deeply involve while I attend the school JHS 291 AS AN 8th grader exploring the dance call Rock !so there for due to the fact the Touch Of Rock was the first Rock crew to form in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn in the mid 1976 where there were no other Rock crew formed until the spring of 1977 .
But there was this one crew that went by the name of Dynamic Spinner which later on became a dance crew with two dancers by the name of Papo and JR.
So the real history of my Rocking days started the late year of 1974 and the crew Touch Of Rock started in the summer summer of 1976 the crew knight breaker was founded by this Rocker named Cus 108 who found the crew in the late 1975 which later became the crew Touch Of Rock and founded by CUS and BUZ March of 1976, than every other Rock crews started to come out in the spring of 1977 durring the year of The New York City Blackout that affected on July 13 – July 14, 0f 1977…during that Blackout my family lost our house on this fire that burned down this factory that stood up on the corner of Greene ave. and Knickerbocker which is today placed by a Police station this fire spread from knickerbocker and destroyed all the houses that once surrounded the police station the house that starts in the Menahan street going up thorst Wilson ave..it’s our house that later was rebuilt…

You see in many of my forums, I had said that I started dancing in the year 1972 and it’s not true and I apologize for the mislead. Sorry that I did not take this history thing serious and did not take the time to look at the dates. but I sure can vouch for certain dancers that I saw during 1974 and also the dance rock that I first saw in 1970 while living in williamsbugh bklyn aka the south side..in this school center where I would go during the week for a couple of hours with the guidance of my older brother… and also these places were I saw rocking during the late year of 1974 when I went to these place where my sister did hang out at places like the club (THE JOINT ) and other church halls that I also went with my sister late 1974. I started to go to these places and learning the dance Rock and decided to start to dance in the early 1975 where I saw dancers Like Papo ,Rocky nelson Lil dave ,Cus, Sparky ,Tee ,Poochie , Lenny , Pete and many other dancers..
Papo and Rocky-Nelson were my wake up call when I faced them 3 month into my rocking time back in the beginning of my Rocking years who school me not teach me how to rock but burnt me pretty bad and it was when I said to myself that if I was going to do this dance Call Rock I would have to be able to face dancers like them…which later down my Rocking years I faced Rocky-nelson and took my first big battle where I felt the competition but never faced Papo in this dance call rock ever again or neither faced Lil Dave. But did faced Papo during my freestyle years which is another evolution of dancing that took place right after rocking in Bushwick in the late 1970’s. But I did join many other huge battles like the Park slope one held in fort hamington, The east New York ,The Queens one and the Manhattan one and many other battles during my dancing time in the 70’s around my neighborhood. These battles took place in places like Linden park , Bushwick park , church halls , Block party and many hookie partys that we call sets back in the time between 1975 and mid 1980’s I have always danced solo with rockers Like Ronald who later became duz, and lefty ,reggie ,cus ben, chino, hector, junior ,elmer and during that time there were dancers like Rocky nelson ,Pete ,Mike ,Bareta ,Many, Eddie Figueroa ,Poochie, Tee, Ray, Lenny , Tiny ,Danny boy and Carlos. My respect for them rockers that I didn’t mention..But there was Rubberbandman which I never got to meet but had heard many things about him so due to the fact that I have never met him I can not mention him in my history but do vouch that he was a pretty good dancer according to the information that Papo, LILDave had giving and also Rocky Nelson In fact when I first heard that name I thought that the rocker Rubberbandman was Rocky Nelson .The rocker Rocky Nelson deserve a lot of credit his dancing was superb and so was his style he moved his body in ways that no-one could of moved it .And than there was his brother Pete also a great dancer a unique dancer with moves the were smooth Pete and LiL Dave had the same familiar style and they were also great dancers that stand out during the 70’s. And than there was also Papo who had Rocking style that would never run out of energy to dance against him you needed to bring it or you were going to be burnt and be humiliated because for Papo that was what it was all about bringing it and leaving it on the dance floor. It was in the early 1977 when all the Rocking crew started to form and the solo dancing became battles of groups burning groups and representing there crew. Like I said the crew Touch Of Rock was one of the first Rock crew to form in the Mid 1976 they dressed with there blue vest and navy blue old English letters we formed the organization in different callegories Ladie Touch Of Rock , JR Touch Of Rock …and we had Dj crew by the name of Majestic Disco Sounds … our Dj’s were : Dj Nelson – Dj Lefty and Dj Reggie. Our Taylor was Chickie who ran a factory down in the lower east side of manhattan the bowery! It was than when the new era of dancers crews (rockers) came about ..Crews like the Dynasty Rockers, with Danny boy,Carlos,Manny,Tony,Gary, Disco Rockers ,Blk Ed,George,Snoopy, Incredible Rockers, Charlie Rock,Weo Willo, Down to Rock , Universal rocker , Lil Dave rockers younger rockers,Mtc ,scorpion rockers, phazic rockers, and many more my respect to the groups that were not mention…
1979 I left to Puerto Rico for a year and started to hook up with a partner by the name of Rafael aka (Snoopy) and started to get into the new evolution in Bushwick which was freestyle routine Papo and Jr were known for there routine and there was Tee and Lenny , Tito burn and Eddie stop , Danny and Tony , Eddie and Manny, Poochie and Lil dave, Tiny and Chino , Buz and Snoopy… and many other freestylers which I can’t remember today…But as the routine freestyle started to wined down the loft and the bboy started to break into the seen in Brooklyn. I don’t have the exact date when the bboy era came in to play but I do remember it coming into Bushwick in the 80’s ….
