HOW IT WAS BACK IN THE DAYS OF ROCKING ON THE STREETS OF BUSHWICK BROOKLYN NEW YORK..
The hookie partys the jams in the church halls, the jams on the parks and the block partys the dressing with slacks and button down shirts flat shoes and the DA hair style, The d.j's connecting there dj equiptment to the light poles on the streets bringing out there towards and ass kickers photo horn for speaker and 15 to 20 crates of records 4 turn tables the GLI mixers and the SL-20'S Technics, trying to blow away the compertition.the fellors playing celo on the streets saling the loose joints and the trade bags..cracking the old english and the colt 45 and also the wild irish rose and the night trains and going out to the 42nd street to check out the karate flicks on the avenue of what we call 40duwap where there was nutting but weed saling and hookers on the avenue and you could'nt even walk on them streets without peeps trying to stick you up ..Back in Brooklyn there was the ultimate dance call Rock (up-rock) and dance so popular mixed in with the hustle dance and also the slow jams of the 60's and 70's ,the Stylistic,Harold and the blue notes ,Gladys, the Temptation ,Diana Ross,Camodores, lionel Richie ,Marvin Gayle, Barry White../ and than there was the Rock music for the ultimate dance of the 1970's Rocking ,Just begun,Shaft in Africa,The Mexican,The Sex Machine,Listen To Me, The battles on the streets that were form with apache lines of 50 fellors 25 on each side but everything was kept in respect never touching each other or dancing on the side of your opponent it was whether you dance in front of your opponent or switch sides but never grbing or touching always keeping your distance but the most important thing was that we would never Rock to no other music but to the songs that were meant to be rocked with ..when the music would change it meant we didn't rock any more until the next set of rock songs ..the music would change to hustle or slow songs and that would give us a break and the hustle peeps would get on the floor but while the rock music was on the hustle peep would stay off the floor..evry Dj had there cue record when ever they were going into a Rock section a song that would let us know the rock section was about to begin and every DJ would always end the night with a slow song !
