oh fck yes. right on BUZ. looking forward to that one as well.

by the way. what was that one yerk called that you and King Rock were doing in the first Brooklyn Uprock History video on youtube where you and him were practicing a routine on a stage? it's as if you opened your legs kind of like a cowboy straddling a horse or something, with your fists down to the sides near your hips, then a skip to alternate the crosslegs and then a roll punch down to a semi-fold.

RB: let us know how that trip goes afterward. have fun.

wow 5 months to a year. that's awhile. sounds like a nice extended vacation! that's cool that they're learning it. you got some funky voyage right there. flash light, shoot em witcho bop gun. haha spreading that funky rock dance whereever you go. congrats on the job and your participation in the bboy scene out there. sounds fun, cool to hear you're enjoying it so far.

I'm from the East Bay, norcal. started dancing maybe spring or so of this year, and first thing I wanted to do is dance rock. seeing clips online, reading about it's history, and then seeing an apache line in person at OFF Oakland got me hooked. so, learning the rock thing at the same time learning some downrock bboy ish too, and everything else inbetween that I can get my hands, you know; charleston, salsa, hustle, latin flavor ish.

sweet, so that's what it's called. the "bowl" yerk. what's that sky yerk? is that where you roll your fists upward to the sky into somewhat of a superman pose with arms parallel to each other, and then skip alt cross leg and fold? thanks for coming thru with the name BUZ. it's great to know the names of all these different yerks, although barely got the ones i've seen all down yet, and I know there's a lot more of them out there. hopefully some day though.

ok here's the beauty of rocking when you can put a combo of yerks together without being thrown off....

I'm the good looking dude on the the beige long sleve shirt.. lol lol ..

a straight yerk
a half yerk
a half yerk
a straight yerk
a sky yerk
a bowl yerk
a front fold yerk
3 burn yerks
a kick back
a staight yerk into the shake ...... there's no one out there that can shake the way buz does I shake like I created that move but did'nt ...it was there way before my time but it's my favorite move is call my baja panty move..lol lol lol ...

and here's the sly yerk ..

peace and GOD BLESS...

thanks for breaking that down BUZ. was an eye opener and helped clarify what some of these yerks i've been seeing original rockers using. really appreciate that.

i'm still somewhat confused about the bowl yerk. it looks very similiar to the straight yerk you were doing in that video. except you might have done a hand gesture in that bowl yerk that you did in there instead of like how you swing your arms back in a straight yerk.

lol .. it is like a stright yerk but with a wide open and the reason it's call the bowl yerk is because I have a boy of mine that was a member of the crew touch of rock in the 1970's and that was his yerk he created that and seens he wrote graffitti and the name that he put up was BOWL 30 ( sparky ) so I named it after him..GET IT .

LOL LOL ...

peace and God Bless

that's dope. thank you for the backround history to that Bowl Yerk and the differences between the two, Buz. i get it now, the bowl is much wider than a straight yerk. gotcha.

i have another question to bother you with (lol) if it isn't any trouble.. can you break down what a side yerk looks like? is it just a straight yerk but directed to a different angle other than straight to the front and then a skip fold? also, what is the Stiff Yerk?

SO MUCH TROUBLE ON MAH MIND; MANY QUESTIONS I NEED TO UNWIND! hah

wow a side !! well a side yerk was not a specialty of touch of rock but a specialty of Dynasty Rockers back in the days ,,the Original Danny Boy and also Tony from the OG Dynasty used the yerk infact it was something they created it was different because when they did that side yerk they would go down slow almost like skipping a beat and freezing half way down .. almost like a lock yerk !!!!!

a poom poom freeze pa a poom poom freeze pa and stab ..

you can see king rock using it alot today !

pretty wierd but sweet !!

oHHHHH K!!

Nice discussion here fellas! Alot of the names are reconnecting to the movements now.

Geetoo another thing to keep in mind is that alot of the different crews had different terminology for each crew. Like there own language...For example i learned a side yerk from breakeasy and king uprock, but then when Noel TOR asked to see my side yerk and i showed him what i learned, he was like, that ainīt a side yerk!! then he showed me his side yerk....So it can get confuseing, even the whole yerks and half yerks i learned from King Uprock were different from the ones Buz showed me. To be honest it is really hard to describe movement throught he medium of writing...the best way is obviously to get over to the BK!!! it just blows your mind all this stuff you been trying to put together via the internet just so much easier.

Thats coool you like the rock, you was at OFF oakland, that was a pretty dope apache line for sure!! You should try and link up with Rawb nasty or whacko or anybody from Forever We Rock, they can show you some things and explain alot of concepts. This dance is alot more fun when you got a partner to work with! Alot of those guys have gone back to NY and learned from the OGīs(old guys) hahahaha

AND BUZ!! i am working on my shake!!! i think it looks better on you though cause you got the extra weight!!!hahaha Tell Noel i said what up!! i have been working on the moves he taught me.

peace yall
