There's a post at the top of this forum called "What is Uprock" it explains the difference.

As for learning it, you really need to either travel to brooklyn or meet someone from there. Pjay and King Uprock sometimes to workshops at various events so keep an eye out.

uprock comes with ur own style of breakdancing.. from moves u createsby invertin the stuff u learn with ur own style. toprock s basically footwork n swinging of the arms.. once u get the hang of it, u make it ur own..uprock have fun with it.

Not quite true. Toprock and Uprock are two DIFFERENT dances. Each one u can put ur own style n' flavor into, but their still different. Toprock is the standing dance of bboying, uprock is in a league of its own. Da two can look similar, but the basics of uprock is droppin every fourth beat (correct me if im wrong). The basics of toprock are steppin out on the snare. If u look at an uprock battle, and a toprock battle, da difference is obvious.

Uprock tends to incorporate more burns and upper body movements, kind of like fightin while dancin (NOT like krumpin, u kno what i mean). Toprock is similar to uprock, but basically ur steppin out on the snare (basics) and then later u start hittin horns, drum rolls, n' all dat stuff.

So to learn uprock, u gotta hit up brooklyn man cuz thats where it came from. Uprock aint sumthin u can learn on ya own, like toprock, u really need an OG to teach u da essence of it. Dat help?? Peace!

well to me toprock is like a dance with your feet and arms movement and its something that you create. and uprock to me is using the toprock you created you form a way of "fighting" the person your battling. Like you do your toprock then you do a fake punch or something and then on the forth beat you do down and then back up.
