I'd suggest you red through some of the other non stickied threads, there's not many of them and a fair few of them sould help you in some way.
Especially read these...

http://www.bboy.org/t66131/s.html Short clip of some uprock movements.
http://www.bboy.org/t65876/s.html Some comments on learning in person vs videos.

I suggest reading this whole section though, there's something to be learned in a lot of the threads.

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.

It's possible but you have to a good eye and strong dance ability and understanding. Maybe you're one of the lucky few. Good luck.

BTW... who's Rocking in the clips you're studying from?

Dude... let's be honest. You want to learn Burns to use in your Toprock for Bboying.... that's it - because Uprock is not going on in your country. I'm not dissing, I'm keeping it real. This forum does not promote part-time Rockers. Get your Bboying down-packed if that's the route you want to go.

Peace

It's going in a small way.
I'm learning, brrn showing my pratner in crime what I know, and I know a few of the NCK guys were in Brooklyn a while before I went and learned some too.
I'm not aware of anyone who is at a high standard, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

To add to that, some time next year a couple of rockers may be moving here. Both of them pretty nasty.

edit: but yeah is it wrong to mix it in with toprock? i do it all the time...

Sup bro... nice to have your post.

IMO, if you want to mix in a cypher, do your thing but if your in a serious Bboy battle, you should keep it Bboy.

Cool, no problem.

To keep it short. Rocking aka Uprocking is not a part of Bboying but is a part of "Hip Hop" or an original "Funkstyle" you'd might say. Rocking was out before Bboying... around 1968, created in Brooklyn. It is it's own dance form, just like Locking. It has it's own rules which need to be followed to perform it correctly.

just remember, Bboying and Rocking are different dances, so you'd have to learn Rocking, from a Rocker.

Bboying is what you make it.
