We managed to smuggle a Bboy.org camera in to an actual Uprock event in Brooklyn.

You will still NOT learn Uprock after seeing this link - so be advised.

This clip is to show the real - to show the difference between what most cats think Uprock is. You will not learn Uprock from clips.

question: is wak one the same wak in the first set of the chico event 1 on the HTBD dvds bonus section? similar style between wak one's uprock in this clip and the guy's toprock in the chico 1 , so i thought it might be the same guy... just wondering.

thanx for the reply bro. if that's the case, then with this other thread discussion about keeping uprock away from breaking, isn't wak using a lot of uprock steps/style in the "toprock" of his breaking sets during that chico 1?
in his toprock during that first chico 1 set, he does what looks to my admittedly uneducated eye like very similar steps and rhythms to what he did in the above uprock clip in this thread, with a quick nike thrown in the middle of it all. PJay and other uprocking purists, would you argue that he is not really breaking in that chico event? I'm very confused about this all, and I'm just trying to sort it all out in my head. I am not at all well versed in uprock, FWIW. Appreciate your insight. In watching that chico event, i have always thought that wak's toprock stands out like a sore thumb compared to a lot of the other competitors' toprock, in terms of its inginuity and apparent progressiveness. I've always thought that his was the coolest toprock I have ever seen. Now, upon reading the discussions on this board, it seems that his unconventional toprocking (or so it appears to my probably dumb perception) may be because he was borrowing a lot of uprock style for his toprock. or am I way off track with all this? p.s., sorry to bring the argument of the other thread into this thread. Feel free to move this into the other thread if you think it would make more sense that way. |

No argument taken.
Do you have this, [chico event 1 on the HTBD dvds bonus section], so I can see it? |

nah, man, I don't. Do you have access to the How to breakdance dvds? The Chico event 1 is in the bonus footage of the second dvd (Power Moves), and the segment I'm talking about is the very first one in that event. I'm not sure if that is available on this site somewhere? I know there are a lot of other clips from those dvds on here, like the basic moves and the zulu gremlin master class.
