oh and in regards to the battle... both still did really good... shit if they can keep me laughing the whole battle... that definitely got my vote... haha...!! but it was surprising to see tek go all the way thru... mad respect and props for him there...!! he just started recently and he made it all the way to finals... he took those last minute tips from pjay to the heart... and el jefe... oh man he came out of nowhere...!! i never knew was learning as well... hes about as goofy as the rest of FWR as well... hahaha...!! but all in all... for whoever who was there... yall have to agree those battles were hype as hell...!! my favorite moment was the battle with jason and swahili... the backflip and airswipe attacks... that shit was crazy...!! hahaha...!!

what made the judges choose el jefe over teck -
03-28-2009, 10:55 PM
first i wanna say that judging a rocking battle is different than judging a bboy battle, a simple one two three cant cut it. This was my first time judging an uprock comp but rob, pjay and myself all agreed on who took this battle. tek did his thing aint gonna lie but for me el hefe was the better rocker. i felt that he had way more character and that his burns connected to music better than tek's burns. hefe still needs to work on his jerks and freestyle a lil bit but i feel hefe had a bit more variety in his dance in terms of combing his freestyle with his burns and hitting those burns on beat.tek shocked the hell out of me that nite he had good burns but foregot his freestyle steps and some of his burns were off soi had to go with hefe, tek will be pretty nasty in the next couple of years if he keeps practicing. so i respond to your question not on some beef shit but on the grounds of explaining the reason we went with el hefe over tek.
peace whacko forever we rock/gutbukit bboys |

I have to say mad props to FWR for having the balls to have an rock contest. They have the skills and respect for ALL the OG in NY. There should more rock contest but many other event don't have an rock contest due to politics. To ALL who want to have an rock contest should try to have everyone take a work shop so that those who want to rock could first learn and understand the dance and music. Then try to get those who are positive and are doing great things for uprocking. I have to say that I have found many OG rockers and I know that if you need judges that i will bring you the right people. For those who are scare to have this event will be losing an great opportunity for those who need to learn this art form. FWR came to NY and learn that NOW they are spreading to those who want to learn. Mad Shout out to the crew
