Okay, first of all, I don't dance, and never have. I was always fond of bboying, but never actually had the dedication to start bboying. Now that friends got me into it, last weekend, I'm hooked and want to get better.
They taught me how to six step, and I'm now working on my swipe, but I want to get my uprocking down, then move onto footwork then power moves.
Seeing that I never had danced before, I don't know where to start. As in "turn on music, then start moving".
So, how does this sound. Learn some 'uprocking moves', then put it all together? Once I can put them together, rock to a beat? That's what I was thinking to do.
How did you guys 'learn' to uprock? tips? suggestions? Hopefully you guys get where I'm coming from. Anything to help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
You should look at the guides in the toprock section. Practice some basic toprock moves like the cross step and when you know how to do it, do it to the beat. Then you can start learnin different toprock moves and mix em all together. Then eventually you can add your own style to it but for now i think you should learn how to do a cross step and how to hit the beats.
