I'm havin trouble findin my the rhythm for my toprock. Ill listen to the beat and find a rhythm then ill start my toprock and ill either forget about it and just go into footwork. or it will be terriblely off then i feel like a fool. i was wonderin if there are any suggestions on finding on keeping the rhythm or beat. any help would do.
Master the basic top rock. Concentrate the whole time on hitting the beats.
Then you can add your own style to it...

keep the beat by either snapping your finger, clapping, or counting out loud, and in your toprock, you cross over your legs (basic) on beats (4 count) 1 and 3.
Remember, 6 steps to 4 beats = (stepping)1-2-3, 4-5-6, or (counting) 1-and-2, 3-and-4.
Hope that helps, but the best advice anyone could give you, is either practice or session with a helpful bboy friend who knows what he's doing.
