Cool Easy way for TopRock - 04-13-2004, 06:38 PM

Okay .. i started my toprock about 2 weeks ago. it took me literally 5 mins... if u ever go to an arcade.. play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) that game is off tha hizzy. U learn to get in the beat and that makes toprock.. If u can dance to the beat then u know how to move ur feet ... Who else plays DDR ?

I am fat, stupid, and ugly. If u are all of these things plz take my advice. If u are not then i will find u and chop off your chod.

It's no different than finding the beat by clapping.

If anything, i'd say DDR is a bad influence on top rockin' because of the restraints. On top of that, the steps that you play to barely constitute as dance stepping -- its hard as hell to dance to.

You might be right.. but , some people might learn faster... like if i hear a song i can top rock to that beat.. so smooth like butta on toasted bread. But neway i dont just bboy.. i dance and ddr helped me learn how to get in the beat accuratly.. . Toprock doesnt look any good if u just dancing around even if u got moves

DDR could only help a FEW people...

and by a few i mean those few who are so hopeless in finding a beat that they need a flashy videogame to teach them.

All one does in DDR is "UP, DOWN, LEFT, LEFT, UP-RIGHT, DOWN-LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT, UP-RIGHT-LEFT-DOWN-RIGHT-LEFT-UP-DOWN, RIGHT-LEFT, RIGHT-LEFT, FREEEEEEZE!"

And that's it! That's all they do! (Haha, guess who never got higher than a 'C' score in DDR... I guess I AM kind of bitter lol) If you could go on Kazaa and download the music, that would be even better than wasting money on the damn game.

Or, give your fingers an exercise and play it online for free at http://www.flashflashrevolution.com . Learn a beat there.

But if you could get a nice lookin top with DDR, then I congratulate you.

Im playing it now and ive been playing for an hour on heavy and i have lost 535 Calories. on workout mode. more than u can do in a gym most of the time. its cardiovascular. Besides its fun! So u can enjoy it. instead of runing on a tredmill.

I've been playing DDR for a seriously long time -- if you don't believe me... I have videos of prominent tournaments that I've placed in while living in Northern California.

I still stand by my word -- it's easier to just find the beat by clapping. I'd say DDR has a more negative affect on your dancing abilities. My girlfriend says whenever I do the cha-cha, it looks like i'm stepping like I step in DDR. I'm trying to get rid of this habit by top rockin' more.

DDR is a fun game and a fun work out; in no way am I bashing it, as i've told you that I used to compete in tournaments.

Uh... yes you can find the beat by clapping -- you must be on crack if you think otherwise. A lot of songs may switch rhythm (You have beat confused with rhythm), but not much modern songs do that. Western music (mideval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic) switch their time signature more than modern day. So it doesn't take much to "find" the beat by clapping. In fact, I don't think you have any clue what "beat" is, because it's hardly limited to bass. Go study some musical theory and musical history.

Don't play DDR to try to improve your top rock, because it's hardly going to help you. It's like trying to play beatmania to improve your DJ'ing skills.

You're better off doing top-rocking to improve your top-rocking skills.
