i always ask him to teach me or help me with powermoves or technical freeze combos, and he says "i cant teach you untill u practse toprockin for at least 6 months.
now its been a month or so since and my tops are getting way smoother, and i probly got 8-10 different tops.
do you think i should acculy toprock for 6 months, without trying any other stuff, cuz i dont really think so.
i realize tops are veery important, but my tops will imporove as i contunie bboyin, and i think i should at least learn mills in 6 months. ( i can do 1 rotation but its terible.)
imput please?

solely topping for 6 months is an overkill i think... don get me wrong i mean 6 months of top rock, you'd be dope as fuck and look fly as hell but thats just too long on one part of bboying... you aint just doing toprocks, you gotta have the moves also. some good bboys can move into power moves and do them well in that time.. so just move on to other basics (foot work, freezes, you kno da deal) BUT keep working on tops at the same time. It is the foundation of bboying so hell yes it is important, but only topping is like getting 100 acres ready for a mansion to be built on it, and never building the actual house. work on tops and other moves
