Toprocking Practice, suggestions? - 03-22-2004, 09:43 PM

I been breakin for a good while but didn't bother with much rocking or footwork, so after I injured my wrist I went back and spent some time on it.

I'm working on adding some variety and also on my hand movements?

What suggestions do people have?

well, i cant watch the video, so i dunno what suggestions might help, but just do what looks cool and what sets u up for the next trick, what feels best in transition, and add ur own style to it, dont just bounce around like some other person did, cus then they will get mad, so just be original and work on it

I suggest finding yourself.

When you dance, you're projecting an image or your personality... whether it's laid back or aggressive, your dance style represents what you are inside.

When you find yourself, work with your dancing. Dancing without personality goes no where, you must incorporate your attitude into your movements. This will increase progression of your dancing in your eyes as well as the eyes of the audience.

Watch what others do. Mimic, but don't bite, and eventually develop your own toprock - be creatively innovative.

I doubt you're over in the NW, otherwise I'd invite you to come to a session. But if you are, respond here and we'll set something up.

The important thing is... is that at anytime we can sacrifice what we are now for what we can become.

True or False: 'Dance like noone's watching'?

FALSE

Quite a ways away!

Heh, that sucks! Well if you have a chance to go to the westcoast for an event or anything, PM before hand so we can meet up at the event.
