Toprock Cwalk... -
09-16-2003, 07:05 PM
I hate to even mention the C-walk on a bboy board, but I went to a school dance the other day and did some breakdancing and ended up battling some kid... He started out breakdancing and worked his way from spins to a bronco back to his feet doing the moonwalk, but after that he did the C-walk! I was gonna just diss him right then and there but when I talked 2 him he said he considers the C-walk as a style of toprock for him! WTF?
I'm in a pretty place where the flowers grow... I'll be back in an hour or so...

True, but c-walk is not bboying, if you are a tru bboy you know this and you don't put gangsta walks into your dancin! I dunno I guess you can top rock however you want but... I dunno it's just a cheap ez dance move that's not even a dance let alone breakdancing! Takes no practice or dedication! All you have to do is watch someone do it a few times and you got it! Bboyin is about patience, practice, and dedication.

so many ppl have their own opinions... top rock is anything u want it to be... its ur own style... but cwalk is however somethin that was already created... so its not ur own style... top rock is somthin ppl look at to see how creative u are n how u flow wit the beat... lots of ppl use the cwalk... that wont be the last time ull see it...

..... to reallly consider what is break dance and what is not..... you have to got back into the history of break dancing ....
and first of all... many people(non-breaker) in my region do considered break dance as a gangster activity... like it or not...
besides any moves that looked nice is considered break dance...
WHO ARE YOU TO SAY WHAT BREAK DANCE IS AND ISNT?
that's all...

Okay first of all, the ideas you have shown to lay down prove u know NOTHING about crippin...it is not an EASY style...thats like peolpe saying oh i can breakdance, that shits easy because they can do a 6step or a bronco...because its what they see or think its all about that. see someone REALLY crip, the shit is ill...
second, adding shit to toprock, like ballet, reggae, cartoon concepts, crippin....is something EVERYONE does n if u havent seen it then obvioulsy ur not out in the game a lot. because that shit can look hot when u just add some steps...n no, im not talking about the generic ones most people have...which u wouldnt know theres more because its obvious u dont know anything about it.
takes no dedication or practice...ur an idiot, plain n simple...i know people who practice that shit just as much as i do bboyin because the ways to do it are endless not to mention it takes skill n hardwork to do it right so u DONT look like an idiot and DONT look like the lil wanna bees
if ur a true bboy u dont run around saying what is or isnt...because u get sick of it urself
Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.
Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

i think c-walk is pretty cool if u mix it up with top rock... its like a new style... just cuz like some ppl can't do a nice c-walk.. it doesn;t mean that its gay or w/e.... it just looks nice when u mix it up!!!

LOL... another thread were the arrogance of the bboys on this site is pathetic...
Zsoldier... I give you respect brothah.
Alright... cwalking, and bwalking are almost the same thing. Gangstah's do NOT dance at all.... AT ALL.. therefore cwalking isn't concidered a dance. Now, they spell out blood, or crip... and their set, and name... its to say look at me, look who i'm with... don't fuck with me...
Clownwalking is ALMOST the same thing, except it actually is a dance. Except people dont' spell anything else, its all steps.
Now for people who believe cwalking isn't a hard form of dance.... your an idiot. I don't know what type of whack ass steps u been seeing, but... real cwalking takes a lot of time.. and to be better at it, takes just as much innovating as other dance styles. So many steps, and techs, and freezes, just on ur feet can come out of cwalking... you'd be an idiot to think its all easy. Maybe u see the kids "trying" to do the cwalkin and doing a fucked up version of the bunnie walk. However, with all the nasty steps, and stalls of real walkers, think about how nasty, your own top rock could become with steps like those.
Its pathetic how everyone looks down on other forms of dance, and dont realize that by adding all these steps, and diffrent forms of dance... all forms of dance into ur top rock that youd have one of the msot uniqe top rocks.

Well, like they said, it was a party, and you know, the guy was having fun. But, one thing i've learned about breakdancing (in my opinion) is, that, everyone has there own style, me, i put in pop and lock and liquid while i breakdance, my friend does hip-hop in with his footwork and stuff, and my other friend robots. Its all about the person, and, i've seen some really kick ass c-walks.
Like, my friend, when he C-walks, he'll pop his back foot up onto his toes and have his front foot out like he was balancing on his heel like a c-walk, but, its off the ground, then he swings it back around and switches legs. And, while i c-walk, between "C's" so to speak, i spell out the word dragon with my feet.
*shrugs*
I guess that long paragraph was unnecessary, but, i felt like speaking my mind.

I did a headspin, several times, first try! Booyaa grandma!
