Usually at a practice spot, I'm not looking for a battle challenge, but if it seems like someone is feeding too much off of me, than I'm tempted to point it out and recognize it. From there we can either trade ideas or competitively take turns. That's sort of what I mean by an evolution, rather than a competition lacking substance or purity of development or history.
good points but that doesnt explain anything with PLANNING a competition making it contaminated... nor does it even go with the whole subject of the entire thread which is about being more interested in the toprock aspect of breaking... plus youre using your own personal definitions of terms so i cant even get on the same page with ya here...

of course i respect your opinion of comps lacking substance as i do feel the same way with it being stale and boring as its just a kids thing now... BUT it is what brings the bboy and dance scene together... and i highly respect those guys who put them together as it takes tons of work to even throw... try managing a party on your own... its the same thing...

as for the statement of people using generic burns... why bother watching cats who dont know how to battle...? why bother watching the battle in the first place...?

not trying to get in an argument with ya... as i dont even know if this response is on the same topic as ya... as i kno its not on the same topic as this thread... otherwise im talking to someone whos trying to sound smart... so forgive me on that if thats not true... peace...!!

On the topic of the thread, I was given advice to dance more in my toprock @ my crew's anniversary party.
Best scenario, to me is when the toprock develops in an unforced nature with the whole thing.

In response to this: I'm learning myself, and these methods prove lacking to me. Sometimes you've gotta see what doesn't work, to see what not to do. There seems to be a burn vocabulary, though, but the best response is just to be better.
I really like this topic..

oh man i really loved that bolded statement... its so true... cuz thats the freestyle aspect of this dance... and it separates the controlled dancers from the raw dancers... really nice statement...

anyways as for the response regarding why watching battles... thats cool... at least youre studying whats going on with the "trends" in the local scene... plus i see youre interested in the burning aspects of the dance... have you studied a bit bout rocking...? sorry im not trying to change the topic into all uprock and all that... cuz that is where the general idea of burning did come from... besides bboy battles arent just bout burns... nor with uprocking... seems like it with rocking but its actually not...

Got an instinct about it, but I'd like to delve further since it is more like dancing, though it can be as technical as toprocking into powermoves and footwork. It's all dancing and I do study it's flow. Y?

youre using parenthesis (wrong).

Parenthesis should be additional information, not something essential to understand the entire thought.

Parenthesis should be to the reader an optional.
thus making the battle what?

No parenthesis learn english please and thankyou

Yo, I'm just trying to make a statement, but not one that is taken too harshly. How would you lighten a critical statement?

The correct plural form of parenthesis is parentheses

i feel the same way, but bboying isn't just toprock. so if you don't have it all, you won't win it all (or any lol)

Toprock sets up powermoves. Trying the 6 step as a power toprock...The 4th step needs to be more fluid or whipped. Anyone feel me ?
