Ayt,seems like this thread has reached plateu..so im gon add a lil something now..

Try to experiment on variations of every kind of steps you know..

example indian step.. do drills like you step the normal way you do, then next drill is do it close or just short step, then drill it again with a wide step..

i do those kind of training to add more arsenal and variations or level of each of the toprock steps i know..so i could play with it as many ways as i can..and my muscle is stretched more thus develope more variations..so even if you only know like 3 kinds of toprock steps ,for example: Indian Step, kick and twist, side step ..it doesnt matter because you can do it in different variations or different levels

This should be stickied.. I learned a lot; read every single page lol.

I don't remember if this was said, but I feel it helps to be able to just DANCE. Not b-boy, but just groove to something, anything really. Even if you're like me, someone that pretty much despises the mainstream and the lame songs they play (once in a blue moon, there's ONE dope song, very rare though), take a song you hear on the radio or anywhere really, and just groove to it. Dance to it; bob your head to the beat, move your arms, shoulders up and down to the beat, sway your shoulders left and right, do whatever! Get used to knowing how to really feel it and not just thinking of doing toprock steps. When you dance up top, you shouldn't be thinking about what steps to string together, but how you're gonna express yourself through the dance and toprock, period.

What? People already had that idea? Damn my midget rock is an old idea. I've tried it for toprock and footwork both on my own volition (no rubberbands just mentally forcing knees to stay locked together like they were glued) SIGNIFICANTLY EASIER for toprock than for footwork... BELIEVE IT!

I'm not sure if it was this thread that I picked it up from in the first place, but I read somewhere that it helps a lot (and I find it to be true) to be able to dance with a girl...

For some reason, it just makes perfect sense to me, because you got to feel the movement and be delicate with your moves yet you can't just be all shy, you have to really dance with your girl and have that funk in you and etc. etc.

Also, I find that if you cover a lot of area in your toprocks but don't let your steps look unnaturally huge, you'll look a lot more animated and its easier to get crowd hyped.

It takes an athlete to breakdance, but an artist to bboy.

Put it in your signature if your with me.

STAY SEXY...!! and i dont mean like flamboyant vogue bullshit... i mean you can break but still gotta look fly... id like to talk more about fits and presentation in the future if the topic comes up... but all i can say rite now is this... go to a club wearing all white... do your thing... and leave not dirty... hahaha...!! thats saying fresh...!!

Try applying michael jacksons dance moves! it'll help and add up to your arsenal of feeling more groovy and funky!

RIP Michael Jackson, you sure have passed away but your dance and flava will stay with us all day everyday!

True that! Michael was such an amazing dancer. The conviction, detail, and soul he put into the dance was just out of this world (He truly is The King of Pop) He did it all, I wish I was able to see him in concert. Not many can dance like him and sing like him at the same time.(^__^)

Seriously get some salsa time logged... the more and more my toprock gets funky the more I know I got a lot of that style from Salsa and I know it can't just be me cuz I'm starting to resemble people I saw and forgot about ages ago.
