I can do 2 legged swipes fine but I can't do one legged. Do I need to put all my weight on my hands in order to do them? When I do my swipes my legs are all bent in and they have no height at all unlike my 2 legged swipes. I just don't know how to get that height, to keep my hips up, and to keep that leg in the air. Any tips? Thanks.
This is probably because upon doing two-legged swipes, you jump off the inside leg (if your body turns to the left, then your left leg is your inside leg). With a one-legged swipe, and a proper two-legged swipe for that matter, you should be lifting your inside leg first and then jumping off with your outside leg. You should remember, though, that before jumping off with your leg, your arm should already be almost completely over your body - you shouldn't be moving your arms and legs at the same time.
i would same you gotta hump the roof and kick the leg that is out at the same time and then at this point you kick the leg that is on the floor up and over the leg that is out you get it?
I go CW so ah i need my right hand to almost be touching the floor before kicking my leg? (and that would be my right leg since it is the outside leg)
That's basically how it's done. Your hands shouldn't completely move at the exact same time as your legs. In order to get the twisting momentum, your hips need to be twisted, and in order to do this, your hands should go over most of the way first. If you watch this video, you can see what I mean - my hands always move first, then my legs swing around.
[EDIT] When doing just one swipe, it should be okay to use your leg to kick up a little to give you momentum. But if you follow up with more swipes, the momentum of you spinning should take over and you won't have to kick up as much anymore.[/EDIT]
(I hope posting this video doesn't count as spam because I also recently posted it in another thread.)
