ok why do all swipes look the same??

i cant tell the difference between regular 1 legged swipes, master swipes, and air swipes

All of the swipes have have different starts which sets them apart. Sure, all of the swipes look alike, but they have their differences, just like windmills have different types, but they go in that windmill pattern. They are called variations, meaning different way to do something. It should resemble its origin, shouldn't it?

ok so the differences between the swipes are just how they are started?? ok i thought it would be sumthin different, cuz the starting position isnt much of a variation, imo a variation would like 1 legged, and 2 legged swipes u know? or like holding ure ballz or sumthin so it would be a nut swipe haha

lol....nut swipes, i've done those i just never named it.

each swipe is special in its own way!
it is not only the start but also the move. All the swipes can and most do end up in the same position. I don't really know what to tell you beside that they are variations. They all will complete a swipe in the move, but just different and more creative.

jon my boy its less how u start them and more what they are like

lesser swipes, bounce up and down and turn like that. look hella sloppy

master swipes, ur laid out and u swing around, like in BOTY.

variations in general are bullshit, its people thinking they are cool

Now that i think about it more, it is less your start that varies them, but how you do them. Like most (if not all) of the windmill variation start the same way but are done differently.

because the idea of "starting" the move isnt really part of the move...or not considered to be so it makes no difference if u start it from standing, from floorwork, from the ground...just makes some easier

ill try and explain the 3 most common and the ones everyone confuses

1 legged, for obvious reason u are on one leg...u go from one foot to ur hands to the SAME foot to ur hands to the same foot to ur hands

2 legged, for again obvious reasons ur on both legs, u go from both feet to your hands to both feet. These are normally a bit harder because u need more balance and harder to make look smoother and not slam

NOW...master swipes...and "normal" swipes...here we go..

normal swipes, if u ever watch someone who hasnt been dancing long, or hell even "breaker" when he teaches them. They jump up and down and turn over, or they jump up, pop out and then they bring their legs back in. Basically u pump ur body up and down, they tend to look jerky and not very smooth. ur body tends to be bent and tucked in, taking up a lot less room.

master swipes is nothing except an alteration of the above swipe, instead of going up and down ur swinging around, kinda like the back of a flare constantly...the most important part about this is you need to be on straight or as close to straight legs and ur layed out. the reason for this is because u need that to swing like the back of a flare. basically if u take a normal swipe and a master swipe it breaks down like this

normal - tucked in, bouncing, jerky, not usually in a full circle
master - straight legged, layed out, swinging, circular

the only reason people think master and airswipe are the same is because of ignorant people running around, the same reason they think airswipes and airflares are the same. someone gets it in their head to put up a clip and change the name of it, since ive seen almost every clips ORIGINAL form before it got on kazaa and shit from older websites...its a common thing

airswipes...very similiar master swipes, but if any of you have seen an airflare(who hasnt, come on now) u basically kick into one of those...come down on ONE foot like u land on a swipe, then go back to ur hands kick into another airflare but land on ur foot like a swipe, u dont land on ur hands first.

so normal swipes are the ugly ass swipes were u go like sidewayz and shit, and master swipes are the nice swipes were u go around in circles

my swipes are a mix of normal and master than, cuz my body is like bent (i cant hold my body straight, for some reason, i can only do like 1 or 2 swipes with my body straight) but i go around in circles and i do 1 legged so ya

I've also read about another type of swipes. I think they were called Trip Swipes or something to that effect. Haven't seen them done, though.
