DRILLS: flat part or the point of the head? -

ok i've been training DRILLS for about half a year now. Ive trained actual headspins here and there but im mainly more eager to get down real nice drills while headspins themselves arnt a big priority.
I started training them on the flat part of my head but soon after was told to do them on the point at the very top of the head, i was told by a very good bboy so i started doing that, since then i have trained drills on the point of my head and never attempted the flat part of my head since.
I'm kinda wondering now which would actually be better? Its come to my attention that i see most guys use the flat part of their head. Im not talking actualy headspins with tapping and lots and lots of spins. I'm talking either drills or like maybe guys who just do 1 or 2 spins during footwork or whatever, just like a tap then spin.
I feel that maybe i can get more spins (as its easier to balance) if i used the flat part of my head as its alot easier, but i was told to use the back point as its better for drills. True/False/Other? i can do a few drills on the point of my head, max (which was a fluke:P) was 4 and a half. But yeah i dont see many people do them on the point of the head like i am.
I'd rather people who REALLY know what they're talking about reply since im already on a certain level with my drills, i would prefer an answer from someone who can do maybe several different kinds of headspins or can do at least a couple of good drills.
Should i keep going on the point of my head? does flat head work better with drills as it does with headspins? are either more or less dangerous? gimme all the pros and cons.
Thanks in advance
